Stay at the Bull on the bridge.... that’s no bull
My stay at the bull on the bridge, for although the purpose was somewhere to sleep for the night. The room was more than adequate, I found the bed to be very comfortable. The room was clean, even though the room overlooked the Main Street I wasn’t disturbed by any noise. The staff were friendly and if I need to stay in Sowerby bridge again I would stay here again

It was cheap (£49 without breakfast) but the room was awful (twin top floor) we couldn't sleep due to terrible old mattresses and the traffic noise through the broken window was ghastly

For me, the best thing about the place was the manager (owner?) Mandy. She was fantastic! Friendly, flexible, and helpful. The room itself was clean, and everything was correct for the price. I only dropped the rating a bit because the internet was very slow from my room. If you don't need free internet it's a great deal.

It’s alright if you want to be in the town centre
I rang to change my booking from two rooms to one room with 2 beds but when we arrived we were showed a room with one double bed. This wasn’t the end of the world it’s just for one night but it wasn’t what I asked for. The room wasn’t the cleanest, a lot of dust and cobwebs and creepy crawlies wandering around. The tv in our room didn’t work at all which was slightly annoying. We were only supplied one towel despite the fact there was two people confirmed staying in the room (the lady who showed us to our room I’m pretty sure said to let her know if we need extra things but in my experience if you know two people are staying put out two towels not make them go back down to the lobby) but I brought my own anyway so again not the end of the world. It was an ok room just for one night round the town, wouldn’t really recommend to anyone though for how good it was, more of a ‘it’s an alright place if you can’t go anywhere else or want to be smack bang in the centre of town’

Unfussy and good value!
Friendly staff, excellent location. Curry house right opposite was excellent and the cooked breakfast in the new hotel cafe was great.

Good location with check in at the pub itself.Flights of stairs to negotiate but room OK with double bed en suite with a good shower.Warm enough and has TV but no desk if working and WiFi is an issue working in bedrooms.Overall though a decent enough cheap place, with restaurants and bars all around you, but wont go back as I need WiFi in the bedroom.

Best priced and facilities all perfect for my need
The bull is a lovely place. Central to train and sowerby itself. Staff all friendly and helpful and room was just the right size. Was strange having the shower in the same room as the bed/tv but I didn’t mind.

No room service all week. had to ask for clean towels on third day of being there. Room was clean when I arrived . Staff seem a little over worked even though the place was empty. Wouldn't stay again

Small basic and clean hotel
Small basic rooms in a small pleasant little town. Plenty of pubs, takeaway restaurants available. Enjoyed a pleasant evening with friends. Hotel was basic but clean. Had a good night's sleep.

NO HEATING AT WORST HOTEL EVER
This is the worst hotel I have ever been in. Litter almost blocked the door way to the entrance. Dirty divan beds and worst of all....On a freezing, snowy night, there was no heating in any of the rooms. I was originally told that the engineer would arrive by 21:30....Turned out engineer was only arriving the next day. I was asked whether I wanted to stay and I said no as I would have probably died of cold. I paid via PayPal and still have not got a refund and I have emailed and phoned the hotel on multiple occasions with no response. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL and also be aware that Paypal will not give a toss either.

The Bull on the Bridge
The arrival went well we were disappointed with the size of the room initially but got over that. What we could not get over was the tremendously loud music which shook the whole room ! (apparently we were directly over the function room ?) there was no mention of this in the description, On complaining the music was turned down to very loud but no vibration a very disappointing experience.
