Burnett Riverside Hotel

"Great location on the river, room was clean, bed was very soft, we had a great view of the river and sunset each night. Shower was over the spa bath with nice pressure from the shower head, bath was great with the 4 jets. New addition was the microwave, came in handy to reheat food. Staff were very helpful, with their suggestion of a taxi company to book for our tour departing the Port which is approx. 15min away from the hotel. We had a drink next door, not dinner. Breakfast we walked over to the cafe beside the hotel 1 morning. 2 pubs and the RSL very close with great food. I would recommend this hotel, easy walk around town to see the sights."

"The room was spacious, the king bed comfortable with good pillows. The bathroom was large with ample hot water & larger shower cubicle. There was ample room for luggage & the spa on the outside verandsh discreet & quiet. We had our own courtyard which was good as we left the curtains open all night. We didnt go into the pools (lagoons) as we had a wedding to go to, but with a group of friends, you would have a great time not even leaving the premises. We will be back!"

"The cabins are fantastic. Definitely enjoyed my stay and the atmosphere. Parking was right next to my cabin and the whole living area is gated so there’s minimal to no worries about theft. Laundry services are reasonably priced and there’s plenty to do on the property itself. Activities in town are a close walk and also a close drive."

"Heron Island is amazing destination but the property is starting to look tired. It is very expensive to eat, 1 restaurant (breakfast, lunch&dinner)& 1 bar, opens at 10am with limited food if fridge works!!. Same breakfast everyday is $35pp. Cafe style coffee for 2 $15, didn't have lunch. Dinner for 2 with 2 drinks and 1 dessert around $100. Diving and snorkelling was great. 1 dive $150pp & $50 for snorkelling from a boat. Free at high tide unless you hire snorkelling equipment. Dive & snorkelling shop is very well organised and equipped. The corals are slowly recovering from bleaching event in 2024 but sealife is outstanding. Staff are very helpful and friendly."

"Friendly staff, clean, nice undercover parking and big room, the only small issue was toilet seat need to be repaired, but wasn’t big deal. Overall was awesome definitely good place to stay. Highly recommended."
