The cabin looked great from the outside. The interior of the cabin was good as well except for the spider webs and dust on the fans. Bathroom had tiles coming apart. Otherwise, it was a great stay and was fun for the dogs.

Super dusty, musky and stuffy, couldn't stop sneezing and coughing when the ceiling fan was turned on, we also couldn't open the windows because there was no window screens and the flies/ mosquitoes would come on in, , the lighting in the living room didn't work, and some of the clean towels smelled like cat urine, the location was peaceful and quiet, I also got charged for my service dog, but that was my fault, I forgot got to note that with the owners.

The cabin is small, for 8 people it is very small. It needs cleaning maintenance, when we arrived it smelled like vomit, the stove and the microwave are dirty. The good thing is that the person in charge attended us at all times when we needed it.

NOT SAFE, DO NOT rent this cabin, the whole cabin was in dire need of a DEEP CLEAN. Cabin owned by manager of the property. Dust, cob webs, dirt all over the interior cabin. Stove, microwave and areas in the kitchen had layers of grease and dust/dirt on the grease (no cleaning done). The carpet in the loft was completely stained and very filthy. Several windows had no screens, unable to leave window open to allow cabin to cool down without letting the bugs in. One screen frame was on the ground outside of the bedroom window and has been there for some time (sign of long neglect). Window blinds dirty and broken. Window curtain slider in the main living area broken - cannot properly closed the curtain. No curtain or blinds on the window in the upstairs loft – no privacy. Many burnt out light bulbs. Doggie door was broken and could not be secured - obviously a safety issue. Advised Host/Owner immediately and was told, "It is a very safe neighborhood, in 20 years we have never had a break in. But I will have someone look at it before noon (the next day)." We secured the opening by barricading the door with our belongings. The following day all they did was place 4 screws to hold the broken doggie door frame in place - entrance through the doggie door still easily accessible with a one hand push on the thin plastic board covering the opening. Shower hardware loose, not properly secured to the wall – lazy install. Cabin should be banned from any rental service.

I was unhappy for the hidden fees. I wish all fees were listen since the beginning. TV didn’t work. There was a lot of spider webs in each room. We found about 10 big spiders. The neighborhood was very safe. The cabin had dishes for cooking and serving food. Heater works great. Shower water was great. Enough parking.

I didnt realize the other bed was upstairs with a 4 ft ceiling. I like how its next to a rock climbing gym and campground with a few other shops and a good breakfast spot Ernies. Close enough to the lake and downtown

Snowed in became a blessing
I loved this little gem of a cabin. I am an avid camper and backpacker so this was glamping for us. I do not need to many amenities to keep me happy. Overall, we were super excited when we walked in. Perfect location in the trees. We were right next to Snowshoe Thompson's to rent XC skis and about 10 mins from Fallen Leaf and Richardson Camp to XC Ski. Douglas was awesome with communication and was awesome about extending our stay regarding the storm. There is Wi-Fi and it can be spotty, but let's face it... You are here to detach and enjoy the beauty of South Lake Tahoe. So I have zero complaints in that regard. We had a futon, bedroom and loft upstairs with 2 twin beds. Plenty of room for the 3 of us and small kitchen with everything we needed. There is a Raley's right down the street in case you need anything else. Bert's is also great for breakfast! I was some grateful for the kindness we received here from all the staff. This is my last year with my son before he goes off to college and it made it that much better! We had amazing snow adventures and cooked some great meals together while sitting next to the cozy fire.

This cabin was amazing in location and size. My husband and I brought our three daughters ages 16,15, and 9 and it was perfect. It was quaint and comfortable. The location is in perfect distance to just about everything you would want!! Communication was also great and check in was a breeze. We will definitely be coming back here.

The cleaning fee was a bit outrageous but it is what it is. We left the place pretty spotless. I think a cleaning fee should only apply depending on how much cleaning is actually needed...IMO

We like it’s quiet location and the let out of the cabin. However, the kitchen got everything we need except paper towel and salt. Also the pots and pans are old and scratched which needs to replaced new ones….

The property was good enough for 4 ppl to sleep - close to malls, restaurants, and South Lake Tahoe beach and recreations. However, it is very unclean. Futon was so dirty that I had to buy a comforter to sit on it. Restroom walls and floor was not that clean either.

I came from Las Vegas so just been in this property with the huge pine trees and smelling the fresh air was paradise. Owner was very nice and the cabin was clean with all the accessories to cook and have a great time. Hope to come back during winter time

I thought was the best option for me and my family to getting a cabin, so I read couple reviews that they said was good so I booked it for 5 days pretty expensive for what you getting, te cabin is super hot, no ac just the ceiling fan on the living room. Plus infested of mice we call to inform about it and the only answer was - “ what you expected the cabin is located in the forest area “ no refund at all. If you planning to book with them keep in mind that they don’t refund any money for cancellation, that’s why I have to stay my whole vacation there.

We attempt to keep pest outside of the cabins. We post traps under the cabins to catch them. This was the first complaint we had in quite some time about this issue. We more traps around and that seems to have taken care of the problem. This customer wanted us to refund everything plus stay the complete time. We refused to do this, but offered other options.

The best part about this rental was that it was more affordable than anything else with such late notice. It is small and a little cramped, especially for those staying on the loft. Bathroom shower was slightly dirty and we did find several bugs. Found dirty dishes in a kitchen cabinet. Overall décor was pleasing. Parking for 3 cars and good communication with management.

Awesome stay
It was such a wonderful cabin, lots of light, well ventilated, cabin feel with pine trees around the property, lots of beds- 1 queen, 4 twin beds at loft area. Complete kitchen/cooking utensils. Fridge, microwave and enough area to move inside the living room. Check in was a breeze, property manager will text you details on how to check in and where to find keys, make sure you call ahead of time since some network has some signal problems around tahoe. Internet is excellent, wifi provided at the cabin. The kids love their tiny-house feel of the cabin, feels like staying in a doll house. Cabin is located in a very convenient spot in tahoe, restaurants are few minutes away, and some groceries and stores. Just a need for extra cleaning of the dining table, some sticky food marks on the table.

Great rustic ambience with modern conveniences. My son loved the loft area and I was glad to have a pretty stocked kitchen and kitchenware to use. It’s very cozy and very quiet. There’s 1 designated parking and a lot of shops and groceries close by. The Lake is a 10 min drive. We brought a little hibachi grill that we used on our deck and or dog had a tiny back yard to prance in. The bed was firm and pleasantly comfortable. The only thing was the shower was small but good enough. I would totally stay here again.

Pros: - Checking in and out was pretty easy as you just have to call and text. - It was close to everything. Cons: - We were sent the wrong cabin at first. We opened the door and saw that there were still stuff (clothing, food, etc.) and it seemed like someone was still staying there. It was concerning because I was able to use the same lock code to their cabin and to our cabin. The lock code for each cabin is the same. We had to make sure that the key was with us at all times and never left it on the lock box until we left. - The utensils weren't really clean and still had some frozen leftover food stuck on it. I'm glad we brought our own disposable utensils, cups, and dishes. - It seemed clean at first but it was actually really dusty so not very good for those with allergies. Be prepared to sneeze a lot. The cabin is pretty affordable but at the same time not the best either. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for.

The lock box codes are not all the same, as we change the codes often.. we Are sorry for the confusing you had at check-in. I have spoken to the cleaning crew about checking silverware for cleanliness. The dust issue came from Pollen, we get huge Pollen clouds that actually turn our roads yellow during June.

Pro: The cabin was very cozy. Just minutes away from shops. Cons: cabin should be inspected before renting it out. Faucets were lose and the kitchen plumbing started leaking. No floor mats anywhere to wipe your feet, so floor was dirty.

The place had a super cozy and rustic feel. It 's pretty spacious for a cabin - could easily fit 6 people. Check-in and parking were super easy. Finding the place was pretty smooth. It's close to ski resorts, grocery stores and gas. It's also nice that they allow pets(a fee will be automatically included when charged. The cleaning fee is a bit high for a 2 night stay. Aside for those, I'd probably come back again.

Not a terrible place, but beware
Cedar Pines is one of the cheapest ways to rent a free-standing cabin. And the cabins are cute. However, there are some downsides that folks should be aware of. The price you end up paying will be significantly higher than the price you're quoted on Hotels.com, as the manager will add a few additional fees. Importantly, the manager explained to me that he charges a $50 pet fee to everyone unless they explicitly tell him they are not bringing a pet. Since this is not a policy at any other hotel on earth, it's likely that he has levied this charge erroneously on people who didn't scrutinize their final invoice. When I explained that I was not bringing a pet and would like that fee refunded, the manager acted as though this were somehow my fault. He (falsely) claimed that the policy is explained on Hotels.com. Also, each bed only includes a very thin blanket. Unless you're going up there in the hottest months of summer, you'll want to bring extra blankets. I didn't have the blankets and so I needed to run the heater at night. In the master bedroom, the heater sounds like a diesel engine 2 feet away from your head. This is not to say you should avoid this place. But if you do book here, it's important to know what you're getting into.

Oven took 45 min to preheat. There was cracks all over walls and ceilings everywhere, paint peeling in bathroom. Broken towel rack so towel had nowhere to hang. Stains all over the bedding and the furniture and the dinning table!!! Freaking gross!!!!
