Restful, cozy , clean cottage. ??
It is a lovely quite cozy getaway spot. It was very clean . And the kitchen has everything needed to entertain. Only complaint would be that it is a little farther from the beach than we would have liked. But we would rent again. ?
Close to everything. Would have been good to know how to get to the beach through the neighborhood. Need to bring passwords for Roku connection. Pretty much as described. No linens or towels so be sure to be what you will need because no washer.

Relaxing
It's been a long time since my family has been able to get away, so having a small, but clean cottage was just the ticket! Yes it was small, however, every room was properly depicted in the ad. When speaking to the owner, I found him to be friendly and very open to answering questions. Charlestown Beach was an easy walk or a great sprint. Available was a private beach deeded to the property. There were plenty of brochures giving direction to nearby restaurants. Most importantly, we felt safe and relaxed!
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The cottage was comfortable, looked exactly like pictures, beautiful backyard. The only minor complaint we would have is the bedroom with queen bed was extremely tight and uncomfortable to get around in. If you had mobility issues, you might have difficulty in there. But it wouldn’t stop me from renting the cottage again. The location for us wasn’t a perfect fit. The beaches were stunning. But, you can only see the water when you are on the beach (and paid for parking). We want to see the water more frequently during our stay. We did enjoy the pond and brought our kayaks. It was great for that. Also great central location… to Westerly, Newport, and Block Island Ferry. So, if you are ok with those few caveats I would definitely recommend this cottage.
This was billed as three bedroom two bath but that was a lie. It only has one bath. The house is far from state beaches. The floor trips you up because it is warped. The toilet and shower are cramped. No washer and dryer. Neither VRBO or owners took responsibility for the fraud. Listing still shows two baths. No faith in this platform, contract says one thing when reality is another. Misrepresenting property is accepted by Vrbo. Nothing was done, no resolution. I am an unhappy defrauded customer.

Sleeps 8... NOT!!!!
Sleeps 8? Perhaps if it was Snow White and the 7 dwarves. The house was small, which would have been fine for just 3 of us, but the one and only bathroom was tiny and filthy. No vent fan, no working outlet and the toilet area was so cramped, your elbows touched the wall with your arms resting at your sides. The shower was so small that my Size-0 13 year old felt claustrophobic in it and the prolific mildew and rusty drain cover compounded the feeling. The mini wall mounted sink was held up by two shower curtain rods in the front corners with the faucet pitted and caked with God-knows-what.
The two tiny front bedrooms had filthy, matted carpeting, scuffed and stained walls and peeling paint on the windowsills. Both of these rooms had two inches of crud around the perimiter of the carpeting, and only one of those rooms had an air conditioner. The other had a cheap plastic fan shoved into the window and a noisy ceiling fan. Every light switch in the house had filth on it. The "bunk room" was so cramped it looked like a prison cell and featured the absolutely cheapest mattresses available. One bunk bed was so compact it felt like being buried alive to be in the bottom bunk. The kitchen was the nicest area of the house with, oddly enough, quartz countertops, but again, a layer of filth on the cabinets, stovetop, microwave and sink. Don't worry though, it's clean now because I spent a half day of my vacation scrubbing it and the filthy bathroom (you don't even want to know what was on those walls!!). The owner charges a "cleaning deposit" which he'll return within 20 or so days of your departure. I'm fairly certain that's how he gets paranoid guests like me to scrub the house when they leave and thus avoids having any professional cleaning service.
On the plus side, the back bedroom, deck and back yard were nice and it was in a great location, but I still wouldn't stay there again.
Spotlessly clean. Big deck and back yard. Very conveniently located to beaches and Green Hill Pond.

Our stay in South Kingstown
Although the neighborhood was nice , the location was far from stores and beaches. The 1 floor home was good for young children but it was difficult not having a bathtub. The beds were uncomfortable and there was ants in the house daily. The back porch / yard was nice. The tree swing broke when used causing injury. Overall we made the best of our stay and had a good time.
We enjoyed staying at the cottage. Very clean. The window air conditioners were great on hot days. The back deck is a good place to congregate. Charleston Breachway Beach is just a short drive.
The neighborhood and house was very nice. The only problem I had during the whole stay was that the mattresses were extremely hard so I had back and hip pain.
quiet neighborhood, cottage with ample general spaces, yard and deckut
Lovely setting, workable cottage, inadequate bathroom but a nice kitchen. . Probably works best for a gang of parents and 4 children, or a couple sleeping in back bedroom together. Beds in front bedroom really are hard as a rock or soft as a sway back camel. But liked staying there a lot! Host should specify that he has Roku and not Cable. Technically the description of WiFi and TV is correct, but it's misleading. These are suggestions not overall dampening impressions. I left a few items of clothing there in a bureau drawer - socks, a new shirt (white with black and blue stripes) - and am wondering if host would send them to me and I will return the postage. There were no garbage bins to wheel out to the front so put the garbage and recycling in the back. A steady battle with small ants, so some traps might be in order.
The cottage was adequate for our stay. The only issue was that there was a very strong odor of a cleaning product that seemed to be used on the blue high back chair in the living room. After airing out the house for a day it was much less noticeable. We were allowed to arrive early so perhaps the cleaners had just left? We enjoyed the private back yard and quiet neighborhood and great location for kayaking.
My wife and I stayed at Steve's home in Charlestown for two weeks and it was fantastic. Serene backyard and deck, close to the beach, and overall a great stay! Highly recommended.
We had a great time at Steve’s cottage. It right on the border of Charlestown Beach and South Kingstown by Green Hill Pond. A lovely place to hang out in the summer! Lots of beach fun and a close drive to many other cool towns (Mystic, Watch Hill and Westerly, Newport, Narragansett, etc). The only things we missed were having a beach pass with the house and a washer/dryer. Otherwise, it was exactly what our family if 4 needed to relax.
We absolutely loved our week in Rhode Island. The cottage was amazing and had everything we needed. The big deck was perfect for grilling and eating outside. The location was great as we were so close to amazing beaches and restaurants. We would definitely come back!
Great location on this rental in RI. Beach, Coffee, Restaurants, Ice Cream, Market, Deli and Package Store all with in a mile of this house. Great set-up. House has plenty of room and the deck with grill and fire pit is perfect for cooking out and relaxing.
