    Rio River Retreat Lodge is a beautiful 4000 square ft log cabin located on the Gold Medal Waters of the Rio Grand River. Perfect for multiple families, church groups, ski groups, quilt/ scrapbook/ photography retreats and corporate events!



    Just 20 miles to Wolf Creek Ski Area!



    With 6 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, and 3 1/2 baths spread out on 3 levels, there is plenty of space for everyone without feeling crowded!

    The Lodge sits on 4 acres, so there are no neighbors right up against you. You will love the privacy of the deck overlooking the river and yard! Enjoy the beautiful mountain views out every window! You will love the updated, comfortable rooms and wish you would’ve stayed longer!

    The open concept living/ dining/ kitchen allows everyone to be part of the conversations about your adventures each day! The large game room is a fun place to come together on cold or rainy evenings.

    The kitchen has 2 refrigerators, double oven, microwave, dishwasher with plenty of cookware, bakeware and dishes- everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. The dining room is large enough to seat 25 guests comfortably. The living room has a large comfy sectional and a 65" smart tv.

    The Lodge is the perfect location for families and friends to gather to make memories where the river meets the mountains!

    WEDDINGS- Searching for a casual, small rustic style wedding/ elopement venue with river and mountain views? Rio River Retreat Lodge is a beautiful location for your special day!! You’ll love the riverside ceremony location and covered patio for a small reception. All new prospective brides are required to contact the owner of Rio River Retreat Lodge, Melissa Harris Jones prior to booking and must book on the platform that you reach out on. This policy is strictly enforced. We want to make sure that Rio River Retreat is the perfect fit for your special day! There IS an additional event fee which includes the riverside aspen arch, rustic benches, white wooden folding chairs, a covered pavilion for a reception and reception tables. Maximum number of guests is 25, unless you also book the little Cabin next door, then the total # of guests is 31.

    The lodge is fully furnished and newly updated with hand hewn log beds and memory foam mattresses. Enjoy the beautiful view of the river from the main floor and upstairs bedrooms or the tranquility and quietness of the basement bedrooms.

    You will love the spacious game room for playing pool, ping pong a kid size foos ball table and a smart TV for watching movies or listening to music. There are various games and puzzles for all to enjoy after a long day of hiking, fishing or skiing. We have added a covered 20x20 pavilion for the perfect outdoor gathering spot while grilling burgers or cooking hotdogs over the fire pit. The 2 picnic tables and outdoor patio furniture make it the perfect outdoor dining area during your stay!

    Enjoy your morning coffee on the large deck that overlooks the river or watch the rafters and kayakers float by in the afternoon.

    WIFI is available throughout the lodge.

    Enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities in and around South Fork- fishing, hiking, riding ATV's, biking, exploring jeep trails, golfing, rafting, and kayaking. Wonderful event home!

We loved the area we got to sew in. All our needs were met and the home was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who need a larger home to enjoy for events.

Two families were able to enjoy this house and each other for a week in this home. There were 10 adults and 2 teens and plenty of space for everyone.The view if the mountains and access to the Rio Grande made this the best place we’ve stayed while in South Fork. We especially enjoyed the large family and kitchen area for our group, and the kids took advantage of the game room and games. The kitchen was well equipped for our family needs. We made all of our meals in the house. There was plenty of room for parking, and checking in and out were easy! We will definitely try to book this place again!

Awesome as always!

This is our second time to stay at the retreat, and we loved it as much as the first time. Plenty of room for 2 large families, and the view of the river/mountains can't be beat. Love this place!

Our go-to place to stay!

This lodge easily houses our group of 15-20 every year for our annual ski trip, and it has plenty of space to relax, play games, cook, and eat together. The owners are easy to communicate with and friendly people. We hope to return year after year!

Great home base for skiing at Wolf Creek

We had three families with a total of 12 people stay here and there was lots of extra room. We played games and cooked dinner each evening in the dinner/living room. Pool and foosball tables were fun additions that are downstairs. On top of this, we got lucky with a lot of snow to play in. South Fork is a relatively easy drive up to Wolf Creek each day.

We used this property for our wedding. The lodge held all of our friends and family comfortably during the event (27 total), and 14 of our guests stayed with us at the lodge during the week with plenty of space for everyone to do their own activities. The grounds are beautiful with the river literally right behind the back deck! Melissa was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. If you are used to having AC, make sure you bring a fan or two- we were not prepared the first night!

Perfect Mountain Getaway – A Hidden Gem in South Fork!

Our group had the most incredible stay at the Rio River Retreat in South Fork, CO. This massive wood cabin sits right on the river, creating the perfect backdrop for a winter getaway. Whether we were warming up by the fireplace after a day on the slopes or just soaking in the peaceful surroundings, every moment felt like a dream. The cabin itself is beautifully maintained, spacious, and well-equipped for a group stay. Plenty of room to spread out, yet cozy enough to bring everyone together. But what really made our stay special was the hospitality of the owners. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and made us feel truly welcome. If you’re looking for a stunning, relaxing, and well-run retreat in the mountains, this is it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be coming back!

Great place to stay particularly if you have a large group. Ample room for all!

We really enjoyed our short stay, great location with easy access to world class skiing at Wolf Creek and close enough to spend a relaxing evening in the historic mining town of Creede. We had so much fun and definitely will return next year!

This was my second time staying at the Rio River Lodge and it just keeps getting better! Melissa goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable and memorable. Our group had a blast getting to all be together! The location is great and easy to get to Wolf Creek to ski. Overall I highly recommended staying at this charming lodge!
