Spring at The Station

Station House aptly named
Situated right by the Galloping Goose Trail, this quiet accommodation’s name was inspired by the local fire station. You can ask the friendly hosts for a tour of the vintage fire trucks!

Hiker’s paradise
This was a fantastic getaway spot. It has direct walk-out-the-door access to the Galloping Goose trail and then a short ~2 km walk to a trailhead for the dozens of networked trails in the neighbouring regional parks. Once off the main trail I walked ~4 hours without seeing anyone. The place is spotless and very modern, with lots of crafty woodwork done by the owner. The kitchen is fantastic and well supplied with the basics. Most importantly, it is QUIET. No road noise, no neighbour noise… just the wind blowing outside. A perfect retreat.

Amazing location!
The unit is on a large, well maintained acreage bordering the galloping goose and road to the potholes. It made for some lovely walks right from the door. The hosts were very accomodating for our toddler by providing a baby gate and high chair as well as letting us puts around the yard. The unit was fully equipped with new appliances and the kitchen was gorgeous. We'd love to stay here again the next time we're in Sooke.

If you are looking for relaxation and quiet time this property is perfect. The property has been beautifully renovated by the owners and is immaculate, as soon as i walked in i felt relaxed. We had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend.

Location perfect for biking the Galloping Goose Trail. The apartment was immaculate and provided everything needed for our stay. Hosts were very welcoming. They shared their knowledge of the area helping to make our time in Sooke wonderful.

A very special home , great location! Easy to get on the galloping goose trail, from the house ! Beautiful quiet yard to relax in after a long bike ride ! Great teriyaki restaurant, just down the road ! Best salmon fish and chips , sushi and a store with hand scooped ice cream! Wow!

Absolutely 150% perfect in every way
We were blown away. Hard to describe how perfect this is. Hosts so welcoming and generous with various amenities both inside and out, including the offer of the enjoyment of their large and lovely yard and surrounding areas, so many thoughtful personal touches inside and out, spacious and beautifully decorated, convenient and peaceful location right on the Galloping Goose trail, within walking distance of Sooke River, Sooke Potholes right close by, as are places to eat and shop etc. couldn’t have asked for anything more. We will definitely be back.

Lovely garden to enjoy
This is the perfect place to stay to go biking up the Sooke River or do the Galloping Goose Trail. The trails are just out the front door. Sunny, clean, and new, this unit had everything.

Family getaway
We came down island as a family (parents, 16yr old, 6yr old and 2 month old) and had a really wonderful stay. The location was perfectly out of the way of the hustle and bustle. It was quiet, spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Laura was a responsive and gracious host. Next time we’re out this way I’ll definitely be looking to book here again. Highly recommend! Make sure to check out the forest walk to see the huge cedar and sit above the creek.

Restful stay in Sooke
My husband and I, along with our two small dogs, rented the Station House for a week. We were thrilled to find such a lovely pet-friendly accommodation in Sooke. We very much appreciated the baby/pet gate at the top of the staircase; this was a very nice feature to contain our escape-prone chihuahua. The suite overlooks a lovely garden and fire pit, with direct access to the Galloping Goose. There are alot of ravens in the area, so you will hear their distinctive voices in the trees. Laura and Steven were fantastic hosts, easily reached by text. We would/will definitely return again!

We really didn't want to leave....
This was a fabulous place! Loved the balcony porch and the wonderful light throughout Station House. We should have allowed many, many more days in Sooke - we'll be back! Excellent location for exploring the Galloping Goose Trail, the Sooke River, the Sooke Potholes and the beaches along the western coast - Botanical Beach was amazing!

Excellent choice for visiting Vancouver Island with dogs
If you want to be out of town where you can immediately access a wonderful forest trail to walk your dog or ride your bike, have peace and quiet, a modern, well equipped, comfortable apartment with cozy wooden accents and a view of beautiful green garden surrounding, this is the place. Sooke is about a 30 min drive away from the hustle and bustle of Victoria, so it is within easy reach to get to the big city and to Buchart Gardens by car. The surrounding area has beautiful nature, coast, and a small town with a few good restaurants and breweries. The hosts are very helpful and respond promptly to any requests. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning in future.

Tranquil and Super Comfortable
Laura and Steven's place is situated on a beautiful piece of property literally steps from the Galloping Goose Trail. My husband and our dog walked or ran there every morning. The property itself is spacious and extremely quiet. The suite is modern and equipped with everything you could possibly need, including bath robes. Beds and bed linens are extremely comfortable. We slept well! Hosts were easy to communicate with and went above and beyond when we arrived after a storm and the power was out. And then again when we left some items behind. We also appreciated the environmental consciousness of the way the suite is heated and how recycling and composting is handled. I honestly can't think of a negative. We loved it!

Family friendly accommodation - bikeable from Victoria
Our family of 4 plus pup enjoyed a lovely 3 night escape at the Station house property. The suite was very clean, with comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen. Laura was a warm and wonderful host, and brought over a popcorn maker from her own kitchen when we inquired about one. The large yard was wonderful for playing Frisbee and throwing a ball for our dog (which Laura also kindly loaned us!) There was even a small jar of dog treats in the suite as a pup-friendly welcome! We enjoyed cycling on the Galloping Goose trail which runs right next to the property, walking down to the river (a wonderful place for stone-skipping), and walking at Whiffen spit in Sooke. A day trip to Sombrio Beach (highly recommended) was an easy 1hr drive away. The suite is up a long flight of stairs so may not be suitable for all guests, though there is a baby / pet gate at the top for safety. There is also another, newly built, 2BR cabin on the same property that is accessible/wheelchair friendly. We would definitely stay again!

I stayed here with my sister for the weekend and it felt like a rejuvenating retreat! The place is a brand new modern design with elegant features and even bathrobes! We walked along the Galloping Goose trail to the Potholes, which was a beautiful trail and perfect for bringing my dog. The kitchen was even bigger than it looked in the photos and the whole place was well equipped with everything we needed. Communication and check-in was easy and perfectly smooth.

Lovely 2 bedroom unit equipped with everything you need. Convenient location in Sooke, close to everything, including the Galloping Goose Trail. Our family of four had a relaxing 3 night stay here over the holidays. Was quiet, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a family getaway. A snowfall warning didn’t change our travel plans, but the hosts were very kind and offered flexibility with the reservation which was very much appreciated and reduced any stress we may have felt to get there. Location, location, location, and comfort, too
This lodging is ideally located for access to a variety of walks: the Galloping Goose and Sooke River Regional Park Reserve are a few steps out the door. Sooke Potholes Provincial Park is within a 5-minute drive. The drive along the southern coast on Highway 14 is just through Sooke town, taking you to Jordan River Regional Park and the various costal beaches. The apartment is up a short flight of stairs. It is comfortably furnished, the kitchen is well outfitted, and the appliances are top quality. Just be aware, regarding the dishwasher, no your partner did not leave the door open and neglect to start it: when the cycle winds down it automatically pops open. Laura and Steve live in a separate house on the property. They leave you alone if you want. But are also pleasantly available for a chat or to answer questions. We enjoyed sharing conversations with them.

This suite was perfect for a girls getaway. It is very well stocked and we ate many of our meals in. The beds are very comfortable, the unit is bright, and it is a comfortable and relaxing place to spend time. We especially enjoyed the location next to the Galloping Goose trail and the beautiful forested region. Thanks for everything Laura and Steve.
