The property location is perfect. We could hop on any walking trail - just through the back yard. We enjoyed the pot holes & witnessed salmon spawning just up the road. Getting to ‘town’ seemed just around the corner! (Vehicle is required- not walking distance to everything) The hosts were helpful & responded quickly. The guesthouse had everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable stay.

What a great little spot, so nice and quiet, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy morning coffee on the deck. The space is excellent and laid out well. We really liked the place and the fire station themed wood working was very impressive. Hands down, I would stay here again!

Heavenly Sooke

Staying at Laura's was so comfortable and lovely. The access to the Goose can't be beat. I was close to all the hiking spots I wanted to visit. The symphony of ravens was a treat, and I even got to see a bear on the trail! Highly recommend for casual comfort, pleasant hosts, and fresh air and long walks.

My happy place in every way. Love the 2 separate very comfy bedrooms, windows everywhere providing lots of light and screens so they can be opened, air conditioning, full kitchen, perfect indoor socializing area (great for board games), beautiful wood and other detailing, deck, privacy, quiet, green space all around (it’s the owners yard). Easy access to ‘downtown’ Sooke and beyond. Love this home away from home.

2 days on the Galloping Goose!

Two old Ladies who used to cycle on the Galloping Goose spent two very comfortable days at Laura's apartment. This was ideal from our point of view with fully appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds, and lovely view of the garden at the end of which was the trail. It is close to downtown Sooke, which has a good grocery store and restaurants. The building itself has solar panels which serve the electrical needs of the apartment.. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation.

Amazing location!

The unit is on a large, well maintained acreage bordering the galloping goose and road to the potholes. It made for some lovely walks right from the door. The hosts were very accomodating for our toddler by providing a baby gate and high chair as well as letting us puts around the yard. The unit was fully equipped with new appliances and the kitchen was gorgeous. We'd love to stay here again the next time we're in Sooke.

Hiker’s paradise

This was a fantastic getaway spot. It has direct walk-out-the-door access to the Galloping Goose trail and then a short ~2 km walk to a trailhead for the dozens of networked trails in the neighbouring regional parks. Once off the main trail I walked ~4 hours without seeing anyone. The place is spotless and very modern, with lots of crafty woodwork done by the owner. The kitchen is fantastic and well supplied with the basics. Most importantly, it is QUIET. No road noise, no neighbour noise… just the wind blowing outside. A perfect retreat.

Nice little hideaway

Loved the proximity to the Galloping Goose and the fact that we could walk it with a stroller. The perpetually backed-up traffic into town was a bit of an annoying and unforeseen problem. I liked the booklet the host left for us - appreciated the local tips on food and outings. Also appreciated the playpen and lots of extra blankets. (A high chair would’ve been awesome!) But while one of the queen beds was super comfy, the other definitely was not. Also had ongoing issues with the tv while we were trying to play music. The bbq was a bit out of the way and we didn’t have utensils. But overall a very enjoyable stay.
