I was delighted to find the afternoon tea, coffee, snacks and draft beer lounge. Local bus stop right outside (although buses are infrequent in the area). Lovely onsen, great meals, relaxing vibe.

Great stay and beautiful hotel given its remote location.
Walkable from the train station so super convenient even with bags.
Close to the old town area and one street up from all the food.

Nagataki was better than a hotel stay. We stayed for one night before walking the Nakasendo. We had our own little Japanese cottage set in a lovely garden. Meals were served in our cottage and were simply amazing. The food presentation was a work of art and absolutely delicious and inventive. The onsen was beautiful and had a gorgeous view out to the garden. The staff were so lovely even though not a great deal of English was spoken. We were picked up and dropped off at Nakatsagawa station....

Great value for money. Breakfast included. Free bar in evening. Efficient systems. It is currently set up for people with cars. Public transport not great but Shinkansen track currently under construction with station nearby so access will improve.

Excellent, large house with tatatmi mats. Comfortable beds. Lovely to be able to cook for ourselves and do laundry.
Road is a little busier at night time than I thiught it would be. Remember earplugs or move into a room further away from road.
The process for checking in required passports to be sent prior to receiving check in details. Standard process in Japan, but I was wary. Excellent communication.
Comfortable and clean home in a lovely residential area away from the town.
