"This Marriott is very nice, When I booked, didn't realize it was a suite, complete with kitchen and very roomy. Appreciated they have a dedicated recycle bin. Staff was very nice and our room was fairly quiet. Breakfast was nice, although the bananas looked very sad and old. I had to get extra towels as only two were in our room. One of the hand towels went into the bathtub/shower as when I started to step in, it was very slippy. I don't know why more hotels don't have bath mats in the rooms. We very much our stay here and will likely be back."

Best Western Amador Inn

"This is kind of an older. Best, Western. The room was very clean. When we arrived we were a little unsure because the pictures don't kind of look the same. Anyway, they need to enforce their smoking laws a little bit better. But I think it's because it's in the town of Jackson in amador county where a lot of people smoke. They kind of are laxed with it, but it didn't bother us. The room was very clean and very quiet. Lots of places to eat around and lots of things to do if you like drinking wine. The black chasm caverns are nearby and I heard there's biking trails around. We are more of hikers, not bikers but there was a lot of bikers that day going to the frog jump in calaveras county. Everyone was having a good time. Need food in the morning. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and the two ladies that were in charge were just fantastic. Will definitely stay there again. Kind of third on our list for up there when I say that we are from San Francisco. We love going to the Sutter Creek Jackson area. People are very nice. Oh and also they are pet friendly and the room was surprisingly clean because some other places we stay our dog freaks out because she knows there's been other dogs. This one she could not tell. Good cleaning job."

Historic Cary House Hotel

"Quaint and beautiful historic hotel! Right in downtown Placerville. We loved strolling from the hotel to all the cute shops and antique stores along the row. Hotel itself was clean, well managed with friendly staff. Shower was hot with great pressure! We loved the antique look of the rooms. Bonus: if you like ghosts and spooky stories, this hotel is great! We loved watching the Portals to Hell episode about the hotel… in the hotel! Overall, fantastic experience. We would stay here again if we found ourselves in the area."

"This was one of the worst rooms we've stayed in. It was a suite. The sink was so small you could only fit two small kleenex boxes on the counter. There were 3 females in this room and we had to store items on the floor. There was very little water pressure in the hot water side but the water only came on slightly warm. The little bar of soap was soggy and not easy to use. The beds were so close together it was uncomfortable. Yet, there was tons of room by the desk, which was weird. No trash can in the bathroom. On the phone, there is no information on how to contact the front desk or room service. You had to guess. On the website, it appeared as if there was breakfast buffet included, but no. They charge for parking. Best thing, the beds were very comfortable, staff very nice and lounge tastefully done. But we won't stay here again."

Westhaven Inn Pollock Pines

"The bed was great. Check in was smooth and staff friendly. The floors needed to be cleaned, not just swept. There were hairs in the corners of the bathroom floor. My socks were dirty from walking on the floor. The toilet paper holder needs to be repaired or replaced. The refrigerator rocked when trying to open it. Seems like an easy fix. The soap in the bathroom leaked. The staff was quick to fix it, but the new one also leaked. I normally leave a cleaning tip, but didn’t leave one."
