About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Plenty of Space for the Entire Family!

The property is set up so diverse groups can enjoy their vacation time together while also providing the ability to enjoy some time alone as one-third of the space can be closed off for those pesky work calls, nap time, late morning risers, etc. Perfect for family get togethers and enjoying nature.

The bungalow is set up for large groups and features five bedrooms (3 bedrooms each with queen-sized beds and 2 bedrooms each consisting of one double and one twin bed). There’s a fully-equipped kitchen and pantry (pots, pans, silverware, 30 cup coffee maker, two 4 slice toasters, plates, cups, etc). The indoor dining area has seating for 12 people. There are two full bathrooms with walk-in showers. Bedroom, bath and kitchen linens are included but please bring your own swimming towels.

For indoor entertainment there is a flat screen TV with satellite in the main living area, along with a games table (hutch contains a large selection of board games, books, puzzles, and DVDs), air hockey table, giant Connect game and arcade game (with over 60 fun games such as pacman, frogger, donkey kong, …). There is a second livingroom with a flat screen TV and DVD player. A HDMI cable is also provided so you can easily hook up your own games (xbox, etc).

There is a large private outdoor deck (50’x10’) with BBQ (propane included), tables & chairs, and lounge chairs with great views of the water. There is also an abundance of wild life and often times just looking towards the water you will spot bald eagles soaring, trumpeter swans flying past (wing span can be as large as 10 ft!), herons grazing, deer having a drink from the water’s edge, loons calling, …. Additional outdoor areas include picnic tables, bonfire pit, horseshoe pits and ladderball.

Full and unrestricted access down to the water via a large shared dock that can accommodate several types of boats. The depth at the end of the dock is a minimum of 8’ at all times (there is a free public boat launch close by). A Paddle Board, Kayak and Canoe are also available for exploration. There is plenty of parking for vehicles, boat trailers, etc (please let us know during the booking process if you plan to bring a boat). There is also a swimming ladder off the dock and a swim platform so everyone can jump in and cool off.

White Fish Lake is on a chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and locks (otherwise known as the Rideau Canal) extending over 200 kms from Kingston to Ottawa. This property is located approximately 90 minutes from Ottawa, 30 minutes north of Kingston, 30 minutes from the Canadian/US border (Thousand Islands Bridge) and 2 1/2 hours from Toronto.

White Fish Lake is one of the largest lakes available for exploration and enjoyment between locks. It has great fishing for Large and Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Bluegill, Catfish, Perch and Sunfish.

Area highlights include 2 sandy walk-in beaches with play structures, picnic tables, both within a 10 minute drive, historic Kingston with Old Fort Henry, Rock Dunder Trail (highest point in Ontario and is also a great swimming and rock jumping spot when accessed via the water – 10 min boat ride), Westport with many artisanal shops and restaurants and hiking trails. There are also several golf courses close by. The locks at Jones Falls has boats of all shapes and sizes transported up and down four levels (at 58.4 feet this is the highest lift of any lock station on the Rideau), there’s also a visitors center, lockmaster house, and great Stone Arch Dam to visit, with multiple places to picnic, swim and fish.

Video Recording on Driveway/Parking areas. No audio recording.

Please note that this property is strictly an animal-free zone due to severe allergies persisting in the family.

Great house on the water
This place was perfect for our family of 12. We had 6 adult's, 4 teenager's and 2 nine year olds. The living space is great with plenty of things to do for everyone. Loved all rhe amenities especially the fresh flowers throughout the house. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and the kayaking and canoe. We also took advantage of the pontoon boat. Owner was very nice throughout the process. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Great property & host!
My family has been vacation in this area since 1957 and this was our first time renting through VRBO. We were ready for better accommodations. Any initial worries about trying something new were removed immediately once we arrived, allowing us to quickly settle into our vacation. We stayed the 1st week of July, and the owner was very accommodating to be checked in with time to still enjoy Canada Day activities! The property was extremely clean and very well kept. Our host went out of his way to ensure we had a great stay. I would 100% return to this property! If you're looking for a place on the lake perfect for all ages and activities - this is it!

Jones Falls - Major hit for our reunion
The property was so amazing for us! Thank you again to Lyle for setting up an amazing experience for all us! There were 5 couples who stayed the weekend (no kids for this trip :) ) - we're life long friends who needed a central place to stay as people were coming in from Ottawa, Toronto and Kingston...this definitely was a perfect central spot for all. The place is as described on the website where we had more than enough room for all of us. Beds were super comfy, two large decks where each were the length of the cottage, large tables inside and out, great kitchen island for prepping food, a second fridge on the other side of the cottage, kayak, paddle board and a canoe with the best treat for some of the older "boys" was the arcade game loaded with 1980s video games. Lyle has his own woodworking shop and has crafted some great tables including an epoxy pancake table fashioned from an Oak tree! Impressive! The place and area is super quiet and minimal boat traffic while we there...not sure if the loons were laughing, but we did spot a few while out swimming and kayaking. With Jones Falls nearby we took that in to walk off one of our large lunches :) We drove as we didn't want to walk on Jones Falls road itself - it is only a 20 min walk. We didn't bring any food for a picnic, but would be a good option to do so if you were so inclined as there are picnic tables at the locks. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone - we are looking to return next year!

Family Fun
Beautiful cottage in a fantastic setting. Even nicer than in the pictures, and very spacious. With ten people, there was lots of room to hang out on a rainy day. We had some problems with the boat, but our host had things fixed quickly. We will be back!

Beautiful Property for Large Families
We stayed at Lyle’s property from August 6 to 13 and had an excellent vacation. As 3 families (6 adults and 5 children) we had plenty of space at the cottage to each have some privacy along with large spaces to all get together. We particularly enjoyed the spacious deck and large tables indoors and outdoors that allowed everyone to gather for meals. The pictures don’t do this cottage justice…it’s gorgeous! While there is no beach, the water is absolutely gorgeous and warm with a beautiful dock and swimming platform just the right distance for the kids to swim out to not to mention the lily pad that the kids enjoyed! Lyle routinely rakes the water and there were no weeds to speak of when swimming. The lake was at the bottom of the hill which was great for us as the kids could play outside of the cottage without us having to worry about them being too close to the water. The cottage is well maintained and recently updated with all the amenities that one could want. A few of us had to work and the internet connection was fantastic allowing us to take video calls and work remotely without issue. Satellite TV and board games were great for those rainy days with the outdoor games entertaining the children and adults alike. We rented the boat for one day and had a great adventure down the lake navigating the locks along the way. Most importantly Lyle is a great host. Staying at the cottage next to us, Lyle ensured that all our needs were met, was happy to make suggestions for things to do in and around the area and just overall great communication. We are already making plans to return for next year and can’t wait to see more of the surrounding area.

Fantastic week with our family
The pictures of the cottage do not do it justice, it is much better than the photos. It is super clean and well laid out. We spent the week swimming, going out on the pontoon and playing games. Also, we highly recommend the Dunder hike, the view is well worth the walk! The only negative with this cottage is the shared dock. Lyle is fantastic and has created a great place to spend a vacation!

Family summer vacation
Had the best weekend with my family at this cottage rental. Communication with the host was extremely, fast, easy and consistent. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed and more, the dishwasher was a huge bonus as we have a large family. We spent a lot of time in the game-section of the yard where games were left out for us to enjoy. The doc is a shared doc, though we seemed to luck out and have it to our selves on the particular week that we went. The owner was extremely accommodating and allowed us to use our own floating lily pad. There is a smaller lily pad in the water just off the floating doc for guests to use as well. The layout of the cottage is great for family, as it’s divided into 3 sections so individuals can have privacy and kids can play games, watch movies and peacefully when the adults stay up. Also, we were overly excited about the fact that there are TWO fridges. 10/10 would return.
