"We loved our time at the IHG- Intercontinental Crete. It’s centrally located in Agios Nikolaos to great food and shops. The hotel has valet parking and it was very easy to get in and out quickly. The staff could not have been more pleasant. From the moment we arrived, they were very attentive and kind. The breakfast was phenomenal and included with out stay. This saved us time and money looking outside of the hotel for breakfast each day. The hotel restaurant and bar are great too. We spent each night having a delicious meal or drink at the hotel. The room was spacious and had everything to make our stay feel like home. We loved our time! 10/10"
"This is a really wonderful and unique place to stay in Crete. It was such a lovely feeling to be waking up in an elegant windmill! It is well equipped and comfortable with everything you need for a holiday. The grounds are superb with outdoor space for sitting and eating, and flowers in the extensive gardens. We enjoyed trips to the beach at Vai and Itanos as well as a visit to the monastery at Toplou, and would also recommend the local restaurant in Agio Fotia, Dionysos. The welcome in Crete is outstanding and our visit was everything we hoped it would be."

"Dora was amazing! She helped us plan some great day trips. More local traditional Greek food at the dinner buffet would have been appreciated. Our room was very damp and smelt musty. We only stayed for 3 nights but would have asked to be moved if staying longer. . "
"Our stay at this hotel was fantastic, the property was spotless, architecture gorgeous, environment serene. It felt like a spa stay; the spa itself was nice though maybe not worth it for just the drop-in pools (the ‘sauna’ especially). It was walking, albeit a good 30-40 min, distance to town which was filled with cute cafes, shopping and fantastic dinner spots. The water was pristine, loungers comfy, beach bar perfect. Only thing I’ll say is that it lacked a personal touch.. we actually got engaged there on our first morning and then extended our stay an additional night, sharing the news with the desk staff when we did, he complimented my ring but that was that. Of course I wasn’t expecting free comps or any fireworks but you’d think they’d send a congratulatory drink or a piece of cake or just something to celebrate this occasion. It felt quite removed, didn’t matter though we were just elated! "
"Possibly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The facilities and the grounds are exquisite and the staff are above and beyond. The restaurant serves some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten."
"Lovely welcome, polite staff. We had a room upgrade to a sea view which was nice.
Breakfast was plentiful but as it was end of season the bread rolls and croissants were very dry. The fruit had swarms of fruit flies so we decided not to bother, but there were other options.
The pool area looked nice and clean with lots of seating options.
It was very quiet, possibly we were there on their last open weekend, not sure.
Sound proofing wasn’t good In the bedroom, we could hear a man talking loudly either in the next room or in the corridor around midnight.
I’m sure that in the height of the season it is a very different experience. Having said that the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water.
We don’t think it merits the 5* rating. "
Hostels are a great way to stay for a good value, so you can save your money for fun things to do. The sea views create an appealing natural setting, and you can enjoy attractions like the waterfront.
