Sand Dune Shores

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was friendly and very informative about the local area. Our room was just steps away from the beautiful oceanfront. Sand Dunes provided backpack beach chairs for our convenience and even loaned us an extra one since we are a large family. There are bikes available on-site to explore the island, which I highly recommend. A scenic greenway and sidewalk lead directly across the island to the jetty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms had a vintage cottage vibe and they were very clean. We loved the property's charm,from the whimsical statues to the hammock nestled in the trees. It’s a wonderful little resort tucked right into the dunes."

"Everything was wonderful and we're even accommodated with early check in. Checked in Friday, checked out Sunday. Came back to our room early Saturday evening after a day in the water to find at least 4 housekeepers going through our room as if we're a check out. Dumped the ice (i needed for cold beverages) from our freezer ice maker bin, sprayed/dumped cleaner on the floor all around our toilet...It was so awkward. They just kept cleaning as if we're in the way. I finally told the housekeeper we were fine and they could leave. We're only there 2 days, and the cleaning schedule posted in our room did not line up with these housekeepers tending to our room. Don't get me wrong, we're grateful for a freshly made bed, clean towels and our trash taken out, but anything beyond that for the length of our stay was not necessary. Besides this small mishap, EVERYTHING was wonderful."

"Fernando Flats exceeded our expectations! The family suite was amazing! Plenty of room for 4 of us. The room was equipped with linens for everyone, perfectly organized so there was no guess work needed. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. They provided beach towels and had beach toys and gear available to use at no cost. The grounds were beautiful and had games to play and hammocks to relax on. There were toys for my grandson to play with which was such a nice bonus- kept him entertained the entire trip! The beach was a short walk down the street. Thanks for an amazing stay!"

Marriott's Oceana Palms

"We’ve been coming here for years, they do a great job keeping up with the property and as of October 2026 they are “refreshing the rooms” (new carpets , furniture , fixtures) unfortunately this time, our room wasn’t ready until 6pm, finally when pressed what the hold up was, they needed to stock paper products in the room, not an excuse for holding up my check in for two hours, one of the bartenders at reflections bar seemed like she was on something (pills) overall the quality of service and good employees seems to have gone down a bit in recent years. Regardless it’s still a good family friendly Marriott vacation property , you will get a mix of people paying ala carte as well as vacation club members, everyone is friendly and it’s bot an overly loud or raucous party crowd , mostly retirees and young families, we will contibue to come back but mariott needs to manage this property a little bit better, parking is food but not great (tight spaces, very few spots available)"
