Good Hotel near to Lion Rock

The hotel is in quiet location and monkeys play in the trees. Clean rooms, however, the pool area was a little tired and cushions needed a clean. There are five dogs on-site which are well behaved during the day, however, at night they howl at the monkeys - so be warned you may not get a full nights sleep!

The hotel has so much potential with a great location and a wonderful pool. The staff was also excellent and really tried to do everything to make our stay perfect. However, the rooms needs maintenance and a deep clean - one of our rooms had wholes in the ceiling so insects would fall down and ants everywhere. Therefore. we got a new room which had old towels inside, no toilet paper and still needed a deep clean.

We were happy!

We were very happy with our stay. It is a family business that really strived to make our stay comfortable. We arrived very early in the morning and could even, for a minimal fee, pay to check in at 7am!

Comfy beds and pillows. Air conditioning and fans worked well. Beds only have sheets on them so did get a little chilly. Hotel randomly turn the power off during the day. Bathroom had everything you needed but undecorated

Lovely setting with pool and beautiful garden. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great. I thought this was good value for the price we paid. Areas for improvement: no towles supplied initially (had to ask), lack of toiletries in the room (no hand soap), wifi does not work, food at restaurant quite expensive. We wanted to have two beds but the rooms have inbuilt king beds so there was a small uncomfortable single bed added. No room service unless you ask and provide your key.

My husband and I thought this was really neat. It's almost as though we were in the middle of the jungle. Gorgeous garden and pool. You'll also see some monsters, frogs and lizard! Staff were very v friendly we arrived almost 10pm our first night and they were willing to serve us dinner! We were grateful after a long day with no food! We would recommend it if you're in sigiriya!

We booked 3 nights in a deluxe double room - if that was the case I dread to think what their standard rooms were like. Our room was damp and mouldy. Our clothes in the suitcases smelt damp. The room had big cobwebs everywhere. The ceiling fan was filthy. The bathroom had mould and the toilet brush was disgusting. The listing said it had mosquito nets but this was not the case. The menu for dinner was limited with a lot of items unavailable. Breakfast was not good either again limited options and the cooked items were cold. Of course I discussed the room situation with the staff but there wasn’t the option to move. The staff did their best with organising tuk tuks and transfer to Negombo which we were thankful for. We decided to move on a day/night early to get away from the mould and damp. The above makes us sound like divas but that is not the case. We are seasoned travellers and accept that accommodation in the forest/jungle of Sigiriya would not be 5 star especially when they have a lot of rain, but we would like to think the listing on this site would be representative of what we would get. By all accounts there are better places to stay close by, perhaps I didn’t look closely enough. Don’t make the same mistake we did!

Terrible conditions in the room. There were bugs, old towels and torn bed sheets. Did not have adequate hot water. Faucet controls were falling off. One of two air conditioners was not working. Pool was not usable, the water was cloudy. This property should be delisted from hotels.com.

Property does not have a lot of staff and is not well maintained. The grounds are beautiful, but neglected. The property is also hard to access, down a dirt road for about a kilometer. So if you're without a car it is hard to leave in the evenings. When I was there the restaurant was dark and did not provide any service.

Una location bellissima in mezzo alla foresta, camere grandi e abbastanza pulite ma che abbisognano di ristrutturazione. La piscina é immersa nel verde e prende pochissimo sole perció rimane fredda. La colazione inesistente.. qualche pancake di cocco, fette di pane, delle frutta e uova sode. Mi sarei aspettato qualcosa di più locale, molto deluxldente il cibo. Meglio uscire e provare ristoranti vicini come il Mc Cafe fantastico

Il y a toujours un tuktuk pour vous enmener dans les petits restaurants situé à proximité. Piscine sympa, restaurant sympa par contre le dernier jour, un employé est rentré dans ma chambre quand nous étions au petit déjeuner, mon chauffeur qui m'attendait l'a vu rentrer et il n'avait rien à y faire. Je n'ai pas constaté de vol mais cela ne m'a pas plu.

Wir sind eine Nacht eher als geplant abgereist überall im Zimmer hat hat es gekreucht und fleucht. Nicht nur ein paar Mitbewohner was im Wald ja normal ist, hier wurden die Ecken seit Jahren nicht sauber gemacht. Ist auch irgendwie abseits gelegen Transport funktioniere nur wenn man ins Zentrum rein läuft, wo man sich im dunkeln nicht gerade sicher gefühlt hat. Das Frühstück war ganz in Ordnung, aber das Personal hat sich bei nicht Verstehen nicht nochmal erkundigt sodass die Verständigung schwer war.

Hotel sympa et dans la jungle

Tres bel endroit dans un écrin de verdure et à 1kms à vol d'oiseau du site de Sigiriya. Grande Piscine avec quelques transats et joli restaurant sous un grand porche pour les petits dejeuners et les diners. Breakfast correct mais toujours le meme et au bout de trois nuits, ça devient lassant. Restaurant dans la moyenne, ok pour dépanner mais on trouve beaucoup mieux et moins cher en allant sur la route principale vers Sigiriya. Chambres spacieuses avec grande terrasse mais l'hotel aurait besoin en generel d'un coup de neuf.

Bij aankomst geen handdoeken aanwezig, twee oude gekregen na vragen. Op het hotel terrein wordt afval inclusief plastic verbranden ook een stapel waardoor Zwarte rook over het terrein trekt. De receptie is erg traag, administratie niet op orde waardoor betalingen niet duidelijk waren. Ook moesten we half uur wachten bij uitchecken voordat iemand op een scoot kon komen. Ontbijt was karig, geen keuze. Wat witbrood, gebakken eieren, beetje fruit en oploskoffie.

この辺では珍しくプールもあるのでコスパはかなりよかった。レストランの食事もとても美味しいが、サーブできないメニューが多かった。 スタッフはフレンドリーでリクエストはいろいろ答えてくれるが、迅速ではない。 朝7時くらいからレストランから音の大きいラジオ？が流れるので、付近の部屋だと目が覚める。また、私の宿泊日は深夜0時まで地元民のカラオケ大会が行われて、早く寝たいのにかなりうるさかった。 予約時に2泊にして支払いもしたのに、２日目は部屋が用意できないから、こちらでキャンセルしてくれと言われたのもマイナス。理由の説明もなし。 当たり前ですが、部屋には虫がそれなりに入ってきます。

Good Hotel But Needs Better Management Maybe

The hotel was run a bit oddly. At check-in, we were brought to a room with the door already open and the air conditioning going. I had booked a room with a second bed, which this room did not have, so we were brought to another room with a second bed that also had the door open. As a result, there were some small flies in the room. Also, we did not realize until after the front desk had closed that there were no sheets provided for the second bed. We had to request those the next day. Also, the check-out process was a bit long and hectic. There seems to be some management issues. However, the staff was friendly. There was a slip-up on my part too, as the Wi-Fi was regularly not working. Due to our language barriers, I became frustrated at not understanding why the Wi-Fi was out. Sri Lanka is currently experiencing power outages in regions, so be prepared for this. It is not the fault of the hotel.
