Dockside cottage is the perfect location! Just 10 minutes to Truro or Stewiacke and 35 to Dartmouth crossing or 45 to downtown Halifax!!

There is a bakery in Brookfield that has the most amazing treats which is just a few minutes away!

The lake has a public boat launch so bringing your boat is very convenient. After a day of tubing, relax in the hot tub or enjoy a fire, lakeside!

The cottage will have everything you need! It is truly your home away from home!

Our 100 Year Stay

The Shortt Lake cottage was the perfect home base for our family gathering for my Dad's 100th Birthday. Handy for pickups from the airport. Close to my Dad's place in Truro. And comfortable for family connections throughout the day and night.

Beautiful lake house

This house was truly amazing! It was such a relaxing place with the lake, the dock, the outside fireplace and the hot tub to sit in on the cooler evenings. The beds were comfortable, as were the sofa and chairs. We loved this rental! ❤️

Everything we needed!

This property had everything we needed to spread out as a family and have fun and relax. Many different”zones” in the house for different activities. accessible for those with mobility issues., main floor bed and bath was a lifesaver for an aging parent!

A perfect getaway

Host was prompt and responsive to small concerns. House was beautifully decorated and spacious. The air conditioning was very cold so bring a sweater! Property was well appointed with lots of lake toys( Stand up paddle boards, floaties etc) pet friendly with full gated yard. Would book again!

Amazing stay!

The property was great and we really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views and it was even decorated for the holidays. The driveway however wasn’t plowed and it was really difficult to get out. Overall, lovely.

Excellent Lake Vacay!

We stayed here for one week with extended family. There was plenty of room for everyone, lots of nooks and crannies to relax. Lots of room for time together and time alone to read a book or relax. The cottage and lake area had everything we needed! The host, Rebecca, was very responsive and answered questions immediately. Will be back for a third booking next year!

A great experience

Our two families had an amazing time and made so many wonderful memories during our stay. The home was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We spend lots of time in the hot tub and on the lake. Truly a vacation to remember!

We had a great family weekend. It’s a beautiful place. Big enough that we all had our own space and personal enough that we were all around each other. We were able to bring our own pontoon boat and kayaks. The bonfire pit was nice and relaxing. Enjoyed the hot-tub. This property is a good bang for your buck. I would suggest this place to everyone. A little out of the way!

The property is quite beautiful though might have benefited from some cleaning details. It was very distant from everything so be prepared to get everything you need right away or make frequent, long trips to Truro. Beautiful property though!
