Shimoda Prince Hotel

3.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (406)
"Our room, a combination of Western and Japanese styles, had a persistent odor that charcoal and air freshener only temporarily masked. The Western beds, consisting of a box spring and mattress topper, were uncomfortable and caused back pain. While the view was excellent, the food in the main dining room was mediocre; the steamed snapper, in particular, was overpoweringly sweet and salty due to an unbalanced soy sauce and sugar mixture."

"The hot springs were really good. The hotel itself seemed a little dated. The restaurant was only available if you reserved in advance. The other restaurant/bar was closed. "

Hotel Sea Shell

3.5 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (2)
"The hotel was a lovely place to stay for our short trip to the Izu Penninsula, it was a good base for us to explore the area although there are very limited restaurants or places of interest in the immediate vicinity apart from the beach. The service was excellent in the hotel, especially the check in and the rooms were clean and well maintained. We didn’t use the private baths but they looked great. The only one issue was the significant amount of bugs on the entrance to the hotel and the...

Beachside Inn Shirahama

3.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (76)
"Our stay at Beachside Inn Shirahama was wonderful. It is such a friendly yet laid-back place with clean airy rooms and only a two-minute walk to the beach. The breakfast is tasty and the private hot baths are a fabulous bonus. Highly recommend!"

Pension Smile Again

3.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (11)
