"This very new seeming property was excellent and I'd certainly choose it again for another stay at Besshoonsen. Room was and clean relatively spacious, the three private spas worked well (although the hotel was not full when I stayed). Meals were delicious, dinner and breakfast, and sensible quantities. If you're thinking of an overnight here a) you should come - it is a lovely old town and b) this place has your back for a bit of onsen magic while you are here."

"Not worth it. Way over priced! We stayed one night. Staff are very nice. But the place is of a by gone era. It’s old but not in a charming way. Showers in the onsen are cold and you have to wait for many minutes in order for hot water to come out. The rooms and elevators are old. the outdoor hotspring is on the top floor with no facilities (you have to go downstairs first and shower) and no real view to speak of. The location is on the main drag which is nice. But it should be 1/2 the...

"我々は松本方面から高速で麻績（おみ）まで行き、山道を走ってホテルへ向かった。街灯がないくねくね道を長いこと走ることになりとても大変だった。ホテルのスタッフさんから教えてもらい、翌日は国道19号を通るルートで帰宅した。ホテルは清潔で、大浴場も心地よく、食堂でいただく朝食はどことなく学生時代の合宿を思わせる雰囲気で心がなごむ。夜が明けると雪をまとった山脈を遠くに臨める絶景を楽しめる立地にあることがわかり、明るいうちに19号方面から到着し、ここでゆっくりと時間を過ごす旅程がおすすめ。"

"Hotel’s onsen as shown in the website pictures are for members only. Only basic dormitory style rooms were offered with public bath which had water pressure problem that 2 cannot wash at the same time. The bath uses regular, non-hot spring water which only open from 800-2000. No hot water in the dormitory bathrooms. Hotel is well equipped with gym and game room however for members only. Wish more clarification on the booking sites for this. "
