An excellent breakfast each day at the B&B made for the perfect start to exploring fascinating Glastonbury.

This is a quaint property with everything you expect from a place built in the 1400s. The restaurant and bar area has many of the features of an old property such as beams, low ceilings and slab floors. The room we had was a large one in a converted older out building at the front of the property. It had its own outdoor sitting area and easy access to the adjacent carpark. Beautiful, and as lovely as the reviews that led us to stopover in this gorgeous place on our way to the Cornish coast. Beautifully appointed room, amazing hospitality and friendliness and we only wished we had had more time to enjoy. Breakfast was also so lovely and we could want for nothing more on our first ever English B&B stay. Thank you Liongate House.

The first sight is exactly as the photo of the Inn, and we walked in to a happy and friendly pub, not rowdy, and collected our keys to our room which was as shown in the website. Generous with tea, coffee and milk, plus a pair of binoculours to look out onto the hill behind. This was a great place to stay. The room was very clean and had a great bathroom. It was a simple walk into the city which had ample places to visit, eat and shop.

This hotel was highly rated as the best in UK… unfortunately it did not live up to this expectation. The facilities are run down; it has a nice pool that was probably amazing in its day. The breakfast was good; better than the Michelin star dinner! Our experience may have been tainted because we had just stayed at Heckfield place which was so much better! The grounds and the main house is quite beautiful. We would have loved to do some horse riding but the weather wasn’t permitting.
