Funky looking building. Swimming pool, gym and bowling alley, bakery downstairs as well as a nightclub, and plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Price is very worth for the amenities provided. Easy to find food around the neighbourhood's and also there is a pub next to the hotel serving good variety of beers.

I've stayed at the Avant-Garde Hotel several times this past few years. Very convenient location for me. Friendly and helpful staff, but limited with their English. Cleanliness was acceptable, but in need of maintenance and getting very dated now.

I would give it 4.5 stars
Pleasantly surprised by Avant Garde Hotel. We planned a one night stay to catch a flight to Kunming the next morning, and did not expect it to be so fabulous. Very close to Shenzhen airport, no. 1. Other than having a hint of smoke smell in the hallway and the bed being a bit too hard (typical Chinese local standard), we found the room to be real comfortable, well designed and staff most polite and helpful. They advised us to go visit Sea World which we found to be an enjoyable experience and good way to spend a few hours. Hotel is close to local restaurants that you can eat even late into the morning if you can't sleep. Surrounding streets are clean and walk-able.

Not bad for a Chinese operated hotel. I'm assuming it's Chinese owned and operated because of the decor. The service was adequate- friendly staff. And the room was nice and clean.

The hotel is really nice and modern. It is near from a mall, so we had good options for dinner. The rooms are really nice and big! The only thing I missed is that the staff don´t speak English so well, so sometimes we had some difficulties in communication!

Great Business Hotel
One of my favourite 'Go To' hotels for business or hosting business guests. Very comfortable and good amenities, decent internet and friendly helpful staff. Harry the Indian Concierge is the best if you need help getting something done or with English translation. Local area is very 'local' but easy to get a cab or bike to Metro. Close to SZ Airport.

Excellent stay...enjoyed swimming, billiard, nice breakfast compared to Baolilai Hotel in Shenzhen where I've had very bad experience.

Hotel was pleasant, The lobby bar was not open when it should have been. The front desk sent a guy over but he could not find the keys to unlock the refer. After 10 minutes of waiting they told me to go to the 8th floor restaurant and they sat me in a large buffet area. I ordered my mixed drink and it arrived about 15 to 20 minutes later. So the moral of this story is if you want to have a drink or beer you should buy it before you arrive to this hotel.

Deluxe Room has large windows
Nice hotel with large windows for Delxue Room and thanks to Expedia.com.tw for offering such special rate and further generous discount in corporation with American Express Taiwan.

Not bad, but also not near 5-star hotel.
Room was big and quite comfy. Breakfast included was not very good (compared to other 4-5 stars hotel in China). Location is only good if you travel by taxi/car, subway is quite far. Good for business stay, would not recommend to tourists.

Very nice hotel in Bao'an
Everything is good here. Hope to go back soon. Modern room, not flashy but very comfortable, very functional and quiet. It is rare that I go to a new hotel and instantly like it. This is that kind of place.

Nice place, Needs a bit of service.
The room, lobby, and all are really nice and felt 5*. However, the internet was not available (useless per front desk person), for 80% of the time I was there. Hard to do business with no internet. They also did not turn on the central AC, so it was getting hot in our room. We complained, and they said others had too. But the didn't fix it. Then when we checked out they said no one has complained. Oh well, they did credit us back the extra charge for a window because of the problems.

Has seen better days and has potential.
The hotel overall wasn't bad but it has obviously seen better days or could benefit with better care. The staff was friendly. Some could speak English though several could not. The provided breakfast was a severe disappointment. The room was nice enough though bathroom set up was odd and less than ideal. Bathroom lighting was poor and only mirror was a small one on arm. Also the staff at checkout was scrupulous about charging me the ¥110 I had acummulated in charges but had to be prodded agressively to refund my ¥1000 room deposit. The only positive on the location was it close to the airport, otherwise I would recommend staying in another area/district of Shenzhen. Room was fairly clean but could have been better.

Great comfortable hotel
Great value for the money and would definitely stay here again. Very comfortable and very nice staff. The breakfast buffé was a mix of Chinese and western, not the best if you are used to western standards, but enough choices for you to find something. The wifi was fast (in China standards). It is pretty close to the airport, so you'll hear airplanes, but not very loudly and didn't bother my sleep.

OK, but not what I expected
The illustration that shows the hotel at night makes it look really cool, but the reality is a let down. It's still interesting architecture, but not as modern as you would think. The room was nice and clean and the only problem I had, was that there was no window. It wasn't really a problem, since there probably wasn't a view from my room anyway, but a little strange. The worst part about the hotel is the food, but this seems to be the case with a lot of Chinese hotels. Just don't order any Western food and expect it to be recognizable. The area around the hotel is OK, but not a lot of things to do for someone not steeped in Chinese culture. The street next to the hotel is a walking street with a lot of creative studios and such which was interesting to see. Go a little further and you're in deep, side street traditional culture. Staff was fairly helpful.

This is a very new hotel ultra modern and clean. Amazing facilities all round including a 4 lane bowling alley in the gym/spa area. This hotel ticks all the boxes, cleanness, service, comfort and meals - great western restaurant and western buffet breakfast and extremely good value for the level of hotel presented

Felt ripped off!
This came up as close to Hong Kong airport. In fact it's in mainland China about 2 1/2 hours away and requiring a visa which I didn't have.They apparently sent a car which cost me $130 and wasn't there when I arrived even though the plane was late and I waited some time. As I had no hotel I had to rebook the flight which was $160. Overall cost $370 for nothing.!
