About this property

Quiet carriage suite near vinyards and lake

  • Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Our woodsy guest suite is the perfect stay for a couple or a solo escape. We are nestled in the country of South Cowichan near vineyards, hiking and mountain biking trails. Bring your water toys to enjoy a day on Shawnigan Lake or head over to Mill Bay for some fun in the Ocean. We are minutes to Shawnigan Lake Private School, Brentwood School College and St. Johns Academy and only 30 minutes to Downtown Victoria.
    The space
    The guest suite is a carriage suite on a 5 acre property. The suite is well equipped for up to two guests. Our kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, cooking sheets, utensils and other accessories needed to cook yourself breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have a drip coffee pot and always keep the coffee fully stocked!

    The bedroom has a queen bed and dresser with ample space for your items. There is a peaceful view of the backyard from the bedroom window. The washroom has a stand up shower and small vanity.

    The living space has two comfy couches and a smart TV for entertainment.

    We have a small patio table with chairs on the porch and down on the ground level we have a propane fireplace and two lounge chairs for guests to enjoy!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay. The host was very thoughtful, and everything was straight-forward. The space was clean and perfect for two. It was very peaceful and the stars at night were gorgeous.

Had a great time at Megan’s little piece of Island heaven! If you are solo or a couple, and want a quiet, secluded stay then this is the perfect place for you!

This location is great, it’s very quiet and secluded with lots of parking space. The suite is clean and functional with a good fridge, stove and coffee maker, it feels recently updated with skylights bringing in good natural light to the space and a modern feel throughout. The host was very communicative, accommodating and friendly. She checked in with me several times over my 2 day stay and responded promptly if I had questions. Do snapshot the check-in instructions however before arrival neither of my phones got enough cell signal for internet. Once you’re inside the Wifi is great but cell service is a bit spotty. Cobble hill is awesome and there’s lots to do within a 10 minute drive of this spot from Kinsol Tressel to Shawnigan Lake to some excellent local dining, vineyards, and cideries. Highly recommend this spot for 1 or 2 people to get away from the world for a while. Plus it’s 40 minutes to downtown Victoria, 30 some to Chemainus which has or at least used to have a lovely dinner theatre. Equidistant to Swartz bay and Duke Point ferry terminals. In summary Good location, great host, nice suite.
