Although the hotel had a decent standard, at least from what I am used to, and compared to other hotels in China, this hotel was far away from the standard that was described on this site. Some of the rooms we got didn't even have a safe, and when we asked politely if we could have a new room with a safe, as the description said it would, they wanted to charge us for an upgrade. Except for this the hotel staff was ok, they did what they had to do, but nothing more. The cleanliness of the hotel was ok, especially in the public areas, but could be better in the rooms. The location of the hotel was nice, having Nanjing Road and People's Square within a 5 min walk. The hotel itself is situated in an alley which seemed a bit shady at night time.
