I really enjoyed my stay as I get to the public transportation easily and can go to the Chinese (herbal) hospital across the street. I am sorry that the manage informed me it might be closing for rennovations.

The stepmother hotel

This hotel is in a community, nearing the garbage station of it. The facility in its toilet is not well maintained and looks unclean. The roof of its room is sloping, it seems I stay in a cupboard under the stair. And we pay more than a hundred yuan price for that than the local agent offer.

因為旅館指示唔明顯，地點比較難找。房間內 廁所幾格地磚剝落，未有維修 有點危險。 睡床又大又舒適，罕有地有台階的設計分隔床、廳，房間挺大的～整體而言很不錯的！

Situation dans un quartier agréable, limitrophe de l'ex concession française. Hotel calme pendant notre séjour (8 jours), plutôt propre, avec un certain charme. Demander une chambre donnant sur le petit parc (numéro pair), plutôt au 3ème étage. Bon rapport qualité - prix; proximité du métro (5 minutes) ça ne parle pas beaucoup anglais... Hotel vieillissant tout de même.

Ich kenne das Asset Hotel seit vielen Jahren. Jetzt wirkt es so, als sollte es demnächst abgerissen werden. Kein Frühstück mehr, der Leseraum kalt und ohne Bücher, der Dachgarten geschlossen. Internetzugang sehr gut. Leider nicht mehr empfehlenswert

Room charge was relatively reasonable but room facility especially bathroom was no good. There was no door in shower booth so after taking a shower much area of the floor of bathroom was puddled.

駅から離れた場所のホテル

地下鉄の駅から遠いのが困りました。念のため歩いてみましたが40分かかりました。タクシーも拾いにくい場所に立地しています。ホテルが古いのは承知していましたが、スタッフに笑顔が無いのが一番の不満でした。ワイハイも電波状況が悪くあまり利用できませんでした。ただ古いホテルでしたが間取りは使いやすい間取り担っていました。

Still a special place, but needs a makeover

It‘s almost 7 years that I stayed at the Asset Hotel for the first time, and I come back almost every time I am in Shanghai. I still love the Hotel‘s location, the way it is cosily nestled between much higher buildings and the quietness of the rooms. But it‘s also obvious that those rooms are in need of some maintenance: There are dark traces of former water leakage on the walls, the sink in my room was actually leaking, handles are loose, and general cleanliness used to be much better. The Asset definitely deserves a makeover to become a favourable place to stay in Shanghai again.

Horrible

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The cleaners took my glasses and left theirs and I never got them back. The wifi didn't work. There were large holes in the walls and the shower didn't drain. The staff was super rude and I checked out after one night and they wouldn't give me my other two days refunded to me. They should shut this place down. Pictures on line are completely wrong.
