The staff were pleasant. The room was down a dark alley and tricky to find. In a separate building two blocks from the main accommodations. There was a septic smell which took four hours to disappear! The room was unfinished plywood, difficult to figure out the heating system. Not impressed!

Suminoe Ryokan
The Ryokan has an excellent location at the seaside with many good restaurants near by. Japanese breakfast was delicious and there was a beautiful inner garden . It is conveniently located right by the bike path connecting to the Shimanami Kaido and a short walk from the Ferry / Cycle boat to Onomichi. ...

Host was lovely and welcoming on our arrival, house was very clean and had all the facilities we needed for an overnight stay while cycling the Shimanani Kaido trail.
