About this property
Lazy Bear Retreat - Peaceful & Relaxing - Reconnect with the Beauty of Nature
Enjoy the breathtaking water views of cargo ships sailing by on the Juan de Fuca Strait between the U.S. & Canada from our large windows in the living & entertainment rooms, then, simply turn towards the dining room for majestic views of Mt. Olympus & the Olympic mountain range. Almost 2,000 sq. ft. updated custom built home with big bedrooms & an open floor plan, in a quiet, peaceful area is the perfect setting for memorable year round vacations with your family or close-knit group of friends.
Peace and relaxation is what you will become accustomed to once here. We currently have 4 large bedrooms, one being an entertainment room with a Smart TV (and our Netflix Account Access), games & books and 2 bathrooms that can accommodate 8 guests in two Kings (one can become two twins upon request) and two Queens. Windows in each bedroom are positioned perfectly so you can enjoy the beautiful views when waking up and during those cozy evening!
Once there, you’ll walk up our beautiful deck on the back entrance of our home. Come on in, the bold colors and contemporary design have meshed elegantly, creating a warmth and charm that you will never forget and look forward to returning to in the future.
Each room has plenty of natural light and each bedroom is fitted with individual baseboard heaters so you can keep it perfectly climate controlled to your satisfaction. We have everything you will need including a washing machine/dryer and a kitchen with all the necessary appliances & accessories so you can prepare a delightful home-cooked meal.
There is much to explore in our surrounding area. The narrow, antiquated roads are compacted gravel, easy to walk along and free of traffic. Walk the private roads, take a stroll to the seaside cliffs, ride a bike around. Our neighborhood is absolutely void of sound pollution. It is a prefect escape to get in touch with the sounds of nature.
After a fun day of outdoor activities, you can settle in for an evening with a delightfully home cooked meal, family board games, a movie on the flat screen TV or some music for light-hearted entertainment.
One of the best features of our home is its location for nearby activities. It is a short drive to the Dungeness Preserve & Trail head to the world famous Dungeness Spit & Lighthouse. It is also a couple miles from the Cline Spit & Olympic Games Farm.
If you're feeling adventurous there are a couple great opportunities for day trips. Approximately 15 miles west, venture to the road up to Hurricane Ridge, from Port Angeles. This is in the heart of the Olympic National Park and you will undoubtedly experience some of the most beautiful views the world has to offer and beautiful hiking trails in all of the world. Hurricane Ridge is also a wonderful location for winter activities as well...Skiing, Sledding & most importantly - SNOW BALL FIGHTS!
About an hour or so from Hurricane Ridge is Lake Cresent (Glacier Blue Waters) & another easy hike to Marymere Falls. Close to here is also Sol Duc Falls and the Hot Springs...all of it a must see and do.
A drive to Cape Flattery, the north western most region of the US, and a short, easy hike will take you to amazing view on the cliffs and of the Pacific Ocean crashing into the sea caves!
Sequim is also home to many nationally acclaimed Lavender Farms as well as U-Pick farms and if you come in the spring and early summer, you will see that our Lavender fields are on par with the fields in the South of France…all this, right here in our section of the US.
Escape to the Olympic Peninsula, take full advantage of everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer!
No smoking of any type on our property.

The house was amazing and we loved it. The best part was deer grazing in the yard and the amazing views. The house was clean and comfy and had everything we needed!
We really enjoyed the house and the quiet setting. It was the perfect location for us to visit family in Sequim over the holidays and easily able to visit Olympic National Park. The four bedrooms were all good size and more than we needed. Also, the large yard is great. We would definitely stay here again.
What a great stay! Seeing deer and mountains in the morning while drinking coffee and planning our day was wonderful.
The location is great for visiting the Dungeness Spit, the Olympic National Park and the Hoh Rain Forest to name just a few places we enjoyed.
It was hard to leave, and if we are ever lucky enough to come back to visit we will definitely stay here again.
This house reminded me of visiting my grandmother's house. Comfortable, had all the necessary activities and games for kids, peaceful area to walk at night without worrying about traffic, and a view of the water and Canada.
Comfortable home in a great location - awesome views of Victoria, BC from the front windows and deer grazing near the front yard. Nothing fancy, but very clean and well-equipped, and the PM was very responsive and helpful with regard to a Wi-Fi connection question.
The house and yard was perfect for 6 person family. We had plenty of room to sleep, cook, and relax. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the evenings in the peaceful front yard. The view was beautiful. The house was located perfectly for day trips to hikes. The owner was excellent at communicating. I highly recommend this staying at this house.
We stayed 1 week in Sequim at this property. They had everything we needed as a family of 4. Each of us could've had our own bedroom if we wanted. The kitchen was perfect for us to cook meals in, breakfast and supper. The entire property was clean and organized. Even the exterior was in great condition. Would reccomend to anyone looking for a short weekend or extended stay.
The location of this home is outstanding. You will see deer, rabbits and we saw a bald Eagle. You will also see ships pass through Juan Fuca straight.
The house is roomy and comfortable.
Lastly, the host was attentive, answering our questions quickly.
This was a wonderful property to stay at while we explored Olympic National Park!! The kitchen was well stocked, extra pillows and blankets, very clean and cozy! The are around the house was also very quiet and nice. We were met by 2 deer in the yard and a friendly dog stopped to greet us.
We had a great time and enjoyed the large house! We had a view of mountains from the di ing area and could see Canada from the front windows...also had visits up close from the local wildlife! Well equipped and close to all the things we wanted to do!
We spent 5 nights at this property and had plenty of room to hang out together after spending our days exploring the area. The kitchen was well equipped and we prepared dinner most evenings.Highlights for us were exploring and hiking in Olympic National Park, spending a day in Victoria, BC (ferry), as well as a relaxing afternoon at nearby Olympic Cellars winery. We hope to be back!
The beds were comfortable. The whole house was homey. The front yard needs mowing. The firt impression when we arrived, we thought we had the wrong house cause the front lawn was so overgrown. Overall we all enjoyed our stay.
We loved our stay at Lazy Bear Retreat house... it was perfect for our group of 5 .. 3 adults and 2 kids. Lots of space inside and out for the kids, and the kitchen/dining/living area was wonderful for hanging in the morning and evening, enjoying mountain views one direction and the Straits of Juan de Fuca in the other.
