I REALLY wanted to like this place as lofts in old buildings are my favorite and Seneca is a really nice town. NOTE: This is the first time I've ever not given a perfect score in a VRBO review...First, the positives: - Decor and furniture: well done - Amenities were perfect: comfortable beds with new, clean sheets, quality towels, etc. - Communication with Clay (host) was easy.Unfortunately, these were overshadowed by a number of issues: - Maintenance: The shower door rollers were missing and it was very difficult to close - The shower gel was empty and I had to use the handsoap dispenser - The HVAC doesn't effectively remove humidity; the temp was fine but it never quite felt comfortable. The worse issue however is safety. At 4:00am, the fire department was called due to a natural gas leak in the restaurant below. Apparently, the unlit stove had been left on and so the place filled with natural gas (explosion risk). The fumes drifted upstairs and other guests called the fire department after smelling gas, getting headaches. We had to wait on the sidewalk for over an hour as they ventilated the rooms. Apparently, the fire department has been advising Papa Julio's to install a master gas valve for the kitchen but they haven't. If the other guests hadn't smelled gas, none of us might be here today.I would avoid until confirming the gas cut-off value is installed downstairs.
