We had a very nice stay here. We appreciated having a good restaurant on site, as nothing else was open in town. Note: this hotel is located in Sabuguiero, not Seia, so it’s a little more remote.

Comfortable and modern hotel

A beautiful and modern hotel. The dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant were very good. This is a perfect location if you're hiking to Covão dos Conchos (less than 15 minute drive to the parking area).

It was my second time at the abrigo da montanha, this time as a stop off between the Santander ferry and Lisbon. Great location in the mountains, lovely to have the small spa for a bit of relaxation, and the slightly fancier room with the jacuzzi bath. As with my last visit, the best elements were the amazing views of the mountains in Sabugueiro and the staff, all of whom were lovely. We ate really well (hearty mountain food) at dinner, with exceptional wine from Casa da Passarella at really reasonable prices. Breakfast was great, too. I would definitely stay there again, if I were in the area.

This is a wonderful place to stay, the whole team is very friendly and efficient. The food is local with a touch of modern style, it is what I would call « mountain » food meaning generous, delicious with local ingredients. The rooms are fully modernized, calm, spacious… Highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely modern property. Staff were superb. One of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve experienced. Dinner in the restaurant also very good. Only thing we did not like was the shower over the bath. Not very practice or safe for older people or those with mobility issues. Thanks for a great stay.

The Abrigo da Montanha was a hotel where they've really thought about the little things. The furnishings are all great, well selected. It looks classy. The restaurant has a partnership with a local and excellent winery in Casa de Passarela as well as stocking craft beers from down in Coimbra. The food has excellent presentation, taste and value and the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The spa was small but really well laid out. The pool is wonderful in the afternoon and the steam room/Turkish bath was one of the best I've used in Portugal. Parking was easy, but I don't know if this is because it was a quiet period for tourism. The only negative was that the air con in my room was a bit noisy on two of the nights, which did interfere with my sleep a bit. That said, I'd definitely go back and may well do on my next visit to the area.

Excelente Hotel de passagem ou para curtir o frio.

Um hotel novo, tudo funcionando direitinho. Banho excelente com banheira, um café da manhã ótimo, com direito a queijo estrela e pão croissant. Único reparo que eu faria se refere a cama que era de molas, quando eu prefiro cama box. Mas era muito boa. Dormi bem. Atendimento ótimo. Destaque para a qualidade do restaurante do hotel, onde recomendo um prato chamado BORREGO, que vem a ser uma ovelha jovem assada no forno, acompanhada de batata ao murro e um preparado de espinafre muito bom. È muito bom. Embora o garçom afirme que a porção é individual, eu constatei que o prato dá para duas pessoas com fome.

Un hotel très bien situé pour visiter la Serra da Estrela. Coté personnel c'est le profesionnalisme et la prévenance qui dominent. Coté restauration les mets servis sont copieux, origineaux et savoureux.
