Everything was wonderful. The place was warm and clean; very welcoming. Our host was above and beyond making our stay comfortable. Would recommend this place everyday of the week. Looking forward to coming back.
Pam (and the sweet cats and dogs) were very welcoming! The apartment was clean with everything we needed. The beds were comfy. We enjoyed walking around the farm and strolled down to the pond, the river, and up and down the beautiful blacktop driveway. We'd love to return
If your looking for a place to stay that’s in the country with great southern hospitality from the property owners then this is the place for you.
Our family had a great time and would definitely stay there again.
Was pretty much perfect for what we needed. Have several food allergies so was great to have a kitchen and it was very clean. Bed in the one room is a little high for the wife but overall a great place to stay
Beautiful property and very hospitable hosts. The home was very clean and comfortable. We loved how close we were to downtown Scottsville and the river. I definitely plan on returning.
This was an incredible stay!!!! Our hosts were incredibly kind, and the home was so comfortable and lovely! We also LOVED swimming in the river and meeting their beautiful and kind pets! Thank you so much! :D
From the moment you pull down the drive way it is absolutely peaceful and beautiful! The house was very clean and exactly as described. Our family really enjoyed staying here. The walk to the pond was amazing!! We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend!
This property was only 5 miles from the rest of our family so the location was ideal. It was clean and comfortable. Even saw and pet a newborn calf that was born only hours before.
Peaceful and friendly escape doing wineries and weddings.
Booked for proximity to wedding at Mt Ida and wineries, and delighted we did. Super well appointed, peaceful, friendly host family, and equally friendly host furfamily! Highly recommend for a very comfortable stay while taking in the peace of the acreage, paths to James River and property pond, fire pit, proximity to great wineries, and beautifully kept guest home. Would have paid 2x for this experience, so great value!
Our host George and Pam were always responsive to any questions we had. Accomodations were just as described and the property is beautiful. We enjoyed the place so much we canceled two of our wine tours and stayed at the property enjoying the fire pit and drinking our own wine. We will be back.
We stayed three nights for a wine-tasting getaway and a trip to Monticello. Everything is close by, the wineries and Monticello. The lovely little town of Scotsville has wonderful restaurants and a terrific coffeeshop/bakery with muffins, scones and delicious quiche. The farm is wonderful with dogs and cattle and a firepit! The living room is quite comfortable for late night chats and the kitchen is fully functional! What a nice time! The hosts are terrific and friendly and willing to help steer us in the right direction!
We loved our stay at Riververmew at Belle Meade! This 200+ acre property overlooking the James River has do much to offer. We loved fishing in the stocked pond, walking down to the river, sitting out back in a relaxing setting, petting the adorable cats and cows, and driving to closeby downtown Scottsville for shopping, dining, and tubing down the river. Great for all ages! The property owners are very sweet and welcoming!
Such a lovely stay!! Everything was comfortable, clean, and lots of space to relax and unwind. I don't usually book a shared home, but was sold on the animals. Homeowners were so sweet checking in on us when we arrived while also granting the privacy expected for a booking. Just perfect. A highlight of our stay was the walk to the pond. One of the baby cows, we named Roo, came to greet us and was so precious letting us pet him. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Excellent location, has almost everything you will need (from towels to ironing board plus so much more) - Host is great - has everything setup when you get there and a lot to do on the property itself. Clean, full kitchen (with pots and pans), laundry, and so much more. It is on the second floor with somewhat steep steps (wouldn't be ideal for handicap). But overall definitely an excellent rating and would recommend both the place and the host.
We needed a couple nights away and wanted something out in nature, but close to good places to eat and things to do, well, this was it! Such a cute little place, all three of us agreed, and a great value. The animals were a huge selling point for us and they were great! Such sweet dogs and the cows were awesome. Two wanted to check us out and enjoyed some head scratches. And the wee baby finally gathered enough courage to get close enough for me to pet his little nose! We did wineries for lunch, and there are excellent ones within 30 minutes; and dinners in town, also very nice. We really enjoyed the Tavern, best wings we’ve ever had. Would definitely stay again!
it was freezing. I needed a retreat from chaos. it was provided. wish it would have been warm enough to walk the property and use the outdoor amenities. It was also comfortable and conveniently located. beautiful views.only put a 4 star rating for communication because there is a 2nd number in the house booklet and I believe it's off by a digit and I'm surprised it hadn't been caught before. it said it wasn't a working number when I dialed what's in the book. But George was accessible on his line 100%
