Nantahala is located on the sunrise side of the Highlands Lodge and has a deluxe four post queen bed with an alcove sitting area, dressing area along with a newly renovated designer bathroom. This accommodation opens through sliding glass doors to a private deck with views in two directions furnished with a cafe table and chairs. All Highlands Lodge rooms have access to the Sunset gathering room and Library with Fireplace.

Wanted to stay above the tree and enjoy the fall colors and that is what this Fire Mountain offered

We had a wonderful time here, the GM was so helpful and easing our concerns with highway 106 was closed, she really made us feel comfortable and excited about our stay. Check in was super easy we met Tom who was very friendly and gave us a quick tour. The grounds are beautiful, with horses and a waterfall you can walk to. It really feels like you are staying above the trees. Breakfast was delicious, we spent evenings in the library and the sun rise and sunsets were special to see.

Totally relaxing and enjoyable!

Beautiful & peaceful setting on the very top of the mountain with spectacular views! Lovely breakfasts each morning on a terrace with that spectacular view. Quiet & relaxing, with easy access to Highlands for lunches, dinners, & shopping. Several waterfalls in the area are worth visiting. Owner was very accommodating & made sure we had everything we needed. We were even upgraded to a better room at no charge because it was our 50th wedding anniversary! Mountain slide & winery close by.
