Please note that staying on a boat is a very different experience than staying in a house or apartment. The bathroom is tiny, for instance, similar to what you'd find in an RV. Think of it like glamping on the water. Feel free to reach out with questions if you have any doubts as to whether this is the right stay for you.

We stayed on the antique boat and it was a wonderful experience! The accommodations were exactly as described in the listing. Communication with the manager Amy was prompt and efficient.
Retired from the Navy, our stay was peaceful. The gentle rocking of the boat, smell of the salt air, and the beautiful surroundings made our visit one for the books. As a professional photographer and documentarian in Iraq and Ukraine, this was the perfect way to find peace.
Bay cruise was excellent! Boat photos very true. Would have liked to be able to access info about using the toilets before boarding. Very cozy accommodations. All-in-all a great overnight!
The boat was overall a great experience, the views are insane and the fact theres a kitchen and small fridge is awesome. Slightly hard to get to the dock, and the boat can get a little chilly since theres no heater, just space heaters. Other than that the area has lots of fun hiking and restaurants within 10/15 min away.
What a unique experience to stay on-board an antique boat. Everything worked as expected and we enjoyed our stay. Our hosts went overboard to make our stay special to help us celebrate our 33 wedding anniversary. When it was apparent we would be unable to do a bay cruise, our host arranged for another option so we would still have a memorable experience…certainly appreciated. Communication was amazing from first inquiry to after our stay. Would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a special and unique experience.

Couldnt Stay but Beautiful
First of all the boat was absolutely charming and beautiful! The view was good, the responses were prompt but the situation was not for us. Wish we would have known about the compost toilet which would have been a deal breaker and the stairs were all too problematic for older folks like us but the younger set would surely enjoy the stay
For a ship of this age this one is extremely well maintained with many of its original details intact. A truly unique place to stay. Booked a 2hr midday cruise. Captain Ruby & deck hand James made the tour special traveling under the golden gate and providing details along the way. We spend our evening sitting in the chairs on top as the sun went down, watching the lights on the homes start to shine across the bay. Then in the morning sitting in the wheelhouse with coffee watching the sun rise. Host responded quickly when we had a question. If you are looking for a rare glimpse backward in time this is one great stay!
On a recent trip to Northern California with my grandson, I was looking for unique experiences for him. Brian’s boat fit the bill. Anchored in the Sausalito marina, we spent the night aboard and then took a two hour San Francisco Bay excursion the next morning. Definitely not the same as a hotel stay, required a little more effort, but that was the point. Weather during this second week of June was extremely windy and foggy but that added to the experience. Brian was a great host and easy to communicate with. Would recommend to anyone looking for not just a run of the mill lodging choice.
We had a great time, host is great and responsive. We did the two hour cruise with captain Andy and first mate Nathan and could not say enough good things, so cool to see the city from such a relaxing cruise. Only negative is address of marina is wrong on listing, at the time of me writing this, the ship was at a marina way on the outskirts of Sausalito, near a junkyard, 30 minute walk from downtown. We did not have a car and were blindsided by this day of arriving. I would only recommend this listing if you have a car (parking is free at marina). Wish we could give it 5 stars but they need to fix the address on listing or at least give more notice in case we wanted to refund.
The we were traveling across the country for a week so we had larger bags. Staying on the boat was not going to work for us so we did not stay the two nights that were books. This would be perfect for a one night stay and with smaller bags. And during warmer weather. For our trip it had rained for 5 days in the San Fran area. It was cold and not tolerable to stay on a boat with heated blankets and portable heaters. Please ask about the toilet and shower if you are not familiar with these on boats. I was but not a composting toilet. You receive the directions prior to arrival. I also misjudged my need to relax and stretch out after traveling all day. Amy and Brian were very responsive with communication. Amy was kind enough to help us reschedule our cruise since it was the morning of rain and a small craft warning. The night cruise was perfect coming out of the Sausalito bay, to see the sunset behind the GGB and the lights of the city.
Important: we didn’t stay on the boat so this review is not a commentary about the space itself.
Brian was lovely to schedule with. Unfortunately days before our trip someone else from his team informed us that the boat was broken and we could not do the charter trip that was required with an initial reservation. We wished to reschedule, but do not have availability until next summer (after the academic year). We requested a refund, but were informed that as not possible. They did a partial refund for the charter trip. We did not wish to go through the hassle of finding another boat trip 1 day before our trip and we had no desire to stay on a boat that could not leave the dock. We were paying a premium for the full experience. Brian’s team member offered for us to reschedule within 1 year but this is only documented in our messages. There is no official documentation or guarantee from VRBO. As a student, this is also a lot of money that we had saved to give my son a fun 2nd birthday/us parents a break since entertainment (boat ride) would be in the same space he could eat and sleep.
In terms of a professional and quality experience - scheduling was 5 stars, week before our trip was 1 star. I feel bad writing this review because we were looking forward to this trip. However there is/was an easy solution - refund your guests if you change any terms on them. I would strongly recommend others to consider what happens if terms change on you or the boat malfunctions.
This was such an incredible rental! It was exactly as described and we loved being so close to Sausalito. Everything was walkable and the boat is adorable!
Awesome stay! We especially loved the cruise under the golden gate. It was so spectacular and the crew was very knowledgeable about the area. The boat has so much charm and history and we really like staying somewhere out of the ordinary. It is definitely like glamping but worth it for the sunrises on the bay. One regret is not booking a sauna on the fjord right next door to boat.
Oh my goodness. This was something that should have been on our bucket list if we knew it existed. The charm and elegance of this vessel is unmatched. Beautifully appointed and such great hosts! A
Beautifully restored historic boat on the San Francisco Bay. We saw seals and herons, and enjoyed being right on the water. It is adjacent to the floating sauna fjord. Sadly, very popular so tricky to book. This vessel is cared for by a wonderfully attentive host.
It was unique experience for us. The boat was charming and the cruise captains were terrific, friendly and very professional. The marina was quite and the instructions were all spot on.
Thank you so much! Our time on this beautiful Yacht was an experience we will never forget. The host communicated every step of the way and made our stay amazing! The Yacht is stunning. Built in 1929, she has been kept in excellent condition. We hope to return soon. Thank you so much.
