As per the instructions on the website I contacted the hotel prior to my visit as I would be arriving after the official check-in time. I didn’t receive any response and arrived on the Sunday evening to find the main building closed with nobody at home. I went ‘round the back and found the (closed) reception with instructions for me on a Post-it note sellotaped to the door. When I found my room, which was warm and welcoming, I received an SMS from the owner with instructions. Overall I was happy with the accommodation but I wouldn’t have had to worry so much (about not being able to check in) if I had received the access instructions earlier."
