The hostess was very kind and welcoming! The cleanliness was amazing and the room was comfortable for our stay. It was also a convenient walk to Barščaršija, only a 3 minute walk away and also near a taxi station so you can get a taxi if needed. Overall we are very satisfied and will be staying here again!

This is a perfect location to walk to all in old town. Great hosts. Parking was right nearby. Bed was comfy and the shower was one of the best so far on our travels…great value!!! Loved it! Will come back again

I had a wonderful stay at this Guesthouse. Valida and her husband are excellent hosts and very welcoming. The room and bed were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a lovely spread and I couldn't possibly do it justice! The house is conveniently situated about a 5 minute walk from the main square but away from the main hustle and bustle. Sarajevo is a fascinating place and I would love to return and would not stay anywhere else! Thank you!

This was the perfect place to stay near the old town area. Bustling with eating options, local attractions, and fun shopping. Our host was the sweetest ever! So nice and accommodating. Very helpful and delightful. I would stay here anytime I am in town. You cannot go wrong with this guest house. Only one caveat: not for the disabled if you cannot handle stairs. Most of the balkans are full of stairs, and this guest house is no exception. But given that no where else has accessible areas, this is your very best option. We loved it! Amazing hospitality in Sarajevo
This is my fifth (I think!) time staying at wonderful Halvat. Valida and Mumo are the perfect hosts, the accommodation is well located, beautiful and spotlessly clean. And Valida's breakfasts are just incredible . I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Sarajevo and I'm sure I'll be back again soon!

Solo Sarajevo
Great location, close to the main square and only 15 minutes to the Yellow Fortress. I had a single room which was clean and comfortable. It’s a bit small but wasn’t in the room much. I had a ground floor room which was a bit noisy from street traffic but I suspect that is true of most of the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rhymes recommended good dining locations and helpful suggestions of what to order. I would recommend!

My husband and I can't recommend this Guest House highly enough! We happened across it because we needed somewhere to stop for the night. As it turned out, we loved it so much that we stayed two nights :) The location is great, the room was wonderful and the owners are beautiful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. It is exceptional value for money and had we known about this Guest House earlier, we would definitely have stayed longer.

Great place with a fantastic location. The room was clean and well kept. It is just outside the old town and a 5 minute. Very convenient. Best of all are the hosts who are very friendly and nice.

The location is great, close to the old town, but you can still sleep in relative silence for a big town. At first you may wonder why you booked this one, but after coming and going a few times you realize it's perfect. Breakfast was excellent, Vidala(owner) is delightful and informative.

Home from home
Valida is a wonderful host - all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was cosy and homely and spotlessly clean. And breakfast was just great - especially the pancakes. We were even able to park our car in a private garage. Highly recommended.

Don't stay anywhere else
I rarely give a 5 star rating but this guest house was perfect in every way. I hosts are amazing people, you will have lots of great conversation during your stay and they will help you with everything you need. They even gave us valet service. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The location is just perfect, on a quiet street 2 mins from bascarsija. Just be sure to inform them if you are arriving by car to arrange for parking.

Amazing home-from-home in beautiful Sarajevo
This was my 3rd stay at the excellent Guest House Halvat and I will certainly be back! The house itself is beautiful and immaculately clean - I've always slept so well here. The welcome is always warm and the breakfasts amazing. Wonderful owner and staff and perfect location for the lovely old town of Sarajevo. Why would you stay anywhere else?

Very convenient and homey
You won't go wrong with Halvat guest house. We had the very best experience from beginning to end. The location couldn't be better, the guest house is homey and comfortable and the breakfast is cooked on the spot for you by the owner ( who loves to cook). We also met some very interesting travelers during breskfast. We had the attic room which was very private and quiet. We were able to park our car in their lot a few meters down the lot in a safe place. The owners are super nice folks! Thanks for a great stay.

Great place to stay in Sarajevo
We spent 3 nights in Sarajevo and the Guest House Halvat was the perfect place to stay. Walking distance into the old town and most of the main attractions so it is very convient and great friendly staff to recommend places to see and things to do. Would definitely recommend this place to stay.

The Turks left their Mark on Old-Town Sarajevo
We stayed at the Halvat three years ago, remembering it as a comfortable and clean B&B. It proved to be even better this visit. We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment with a wonderful view of Old Town. The "made to order" breakfast was as tasty and filling.

Welcoming and charming guest house - stay here!
This hotel was absolutely spectacular! I felt like I was staying with a cousin at her private home. Valida and Ema made me feel so welcome and comfortable, I can't say enough good things about the experience they provide. The hotel is efficient and clean, with lovely personal touches (books in rooms, especially). The location is great for access to Bascarsija, and everything in the city is within walking distance of this hotel. The highlight of my days was made to order breakfast with Valida. The food was great, but the company was even better. Don't hesitate. Stay here, and feel like family!

A welcoming inn, in a wonderful city.
The staff are wonderful, gracious and kind. The inn is located very conveniently, just above old town. The staff helped with transportation and restaurant reservations. They were a delight to chat with and exemplified the gracious heart of Sarajevo. Visit Sarajevo. Stay here. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely place, good location
This guest house is ideally situated close to the old town and main square. I stayed in the single room at the front behind reception and it was surprisingly quiet. The room was a decent size, very clean and comfortable with en-suite shower room, TV, hairdryer etc. I recommend you take breakfast as this is excellent value for money and omelettes, pancakes etc. are cooked to order. The staff are friendly and super helpful. I had hoped to stay an extra night (or two) but sadly it was already booked up. I WILL be going back!

Home in Bascarsija!
Terrific, homey guest house steps away from "Pigeon Square" in the Old Town, (Bascarsija). The owners, Valida and Mumo are terrific and caring hosts, very helpful with suggestions and able to have extremely interesting conversations, providing great insight into Bosnian culture. Valida will cook your breakfast to order and her omelets and crepes are delicious. Ema, at the front desk is extremely welcoming and willing to have a good chat about all things Sarajevo. I am very happy that I was able to share my Sarajevo experience with such wonderful people.

Friendly staff in great location
Staff are present 24 hours and have helpful advice on where to visit and how to walk around Sarajevo. Assisted to organise car to the airport. Very friendly and really nice staff made the stay very pleasant.

Nice, friendly guest house in a good location
I stayed for 2 days on my first visit to Sarajevo. I had a very positive experience. The location, on the fringe of the old town and close to the main tram lines could hardly be better. The staff were very friendly and helpful, advising me where to go, what to do and booking me an airport taxi. The optional breakfast was outstanding, including omelettes made to order with a variety of fillings - great value at EUR4. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Sarajevo.

A Little Gem
Brilliant location. Easy to find. Caught tram # 1 from the bus station and walk about 200m round the corner. Staff were all fantastic. The most helpful people we have ever come across. Nothing was a problem. Room was a good size, very comfortable large bed. Good shower and bathroom. Very clean.Selection of books in room. TV channels multinational. Breakfast terrific.24 hour staff on hand. They organised their driver to drop us at the eastern bus station for our bus to Montenegro. Would definitely stay there if we are in Sarajevo again.
