Long weekend get away

Great place to stay - really enjoyed the location on the lake. Kayaks were new and fire pit by the dock was great. The Owner was very responsive and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

Scenic and serene cabin on a mountain lake.

Although access is easy, the property is secluded with a great lake view and access. The house is well maintained, clean and comfortable. Fall colors were gorgeous. Kayaking the lake was a bonus. Also close to a great hike on the Whiteside Mountain trail. Great restaurants in the area also. I would come back again.

A nice getaway in the mountains

Stayed a week with another couple. Kayaking, waterboarding (brought our own) and eating at several of the fine area restaurants. The evenings and days were cool and comfortable and the house was as advertised. Check in was easy, but it might be a good idea to print directions before you get there. Cell service is pretty sketchy near the cottage.

Beautiful home

We had great time with our friends at this house. The stairs to dock will give you great workout (we named the house Stair master) but we all got used to it after 2 days. We took advantage of the canoes, fished of the dock and had fires in the fire pit. This house has all you need.

Lovely Lake House

This house is great. The lake was super fun. Even with a cold snap at 38 degrees we still enjoyed boating the lake. The view and the setup of the house are terrific. Everything we could need was provided. We loved enjoying the fire place. Although there are a lot of stairs they are easy to navigate and are well worth access to the lake & fire pit. Looking forward to our next visit

AN AMAZING!! peaceful retreat

WOW! WOW! The Lake - the views - the area - the quiet - the peacefulness ! If you are looking for a beautiful well done space in the heart of the mountains tucked in beside a beautiful mountain lake - rent this property! It was everything and more ! So close to Cashiers and Lake Toxaway and things to do right close at hand as well. Drew was perfect with food and activity recommendations but to be honest you won't want to leave the house and decks, dock and porches - so amazing ! book it!

Nice home on a quiet lake.

Very clean comfortable home. The queen bed downstairs needs a better frame or box spring. Two people couldn't sleep in it comfortably. The drive way is terrible, but I doubt there is anything the owner can do about it. Even with an SUV, I scraped the bottom of my car. My mom has a taller SUV and she was fine. Park at the top if your car is low. Otherwise, it is a lovely, quiet stay.

A must for those looking for the perfect getaway!

This property is no less than amazing. The home was spotless upon arrival and the owner had everything you needed already there to enjoy your stay! The view is absolutely gorgeous and everyone in the community was so friendly! From the neighbors to the staff at the local grocery stores! There is plenty of shops and outdoor attractions not far from the home like whitewater rafting, skiing, tubing, hiking, local gift shops, and dining! I highly suggest if any shopping/dining is being planned on during your stay, go early due to everything in the area closing early which we were not used to/ prepared for the first night. The steps are a bit of a workout but definitely well worth it once you get down to the dock and get to the lake that you can see to the bottom! I highly suggest taking a kayak or the canoe to the other side of the lake and looking at the falls! It's about a 15-20 minute paddle if you're a faster paddler. The owner is super friendly and quick to respond if we needed anything! I promise you you will not regret staying at this hidden gem!

Gorgeous lake views and beautiful home

This is a marvelous place to unwind, regroup, and just leave the rest of the world behind. The lake, the trees, the total lack of street noise, make you feel like you’ve really taken a step back from the day to day grind.The house itself is lovely and impeccably maintained. My small group chose to stay close to home and soak up all the relaxation the place offered. We left feeling rested and rejuvenated, having spent four days and nights enjoying good views, fresh air, a few spectacular storms, and wonderful food shared among friends.One note for those it might affect – the pics clearly show the stairs down to the dock and since two of my party of four have some mobility issues, we were aware that not everyone would choose to make the trek. But there’s also the stairs from the driveway to the house. The bottom third or so has no handrails and is a bit uneven. There was one fall taken that probably contributed to our decision to stay in rather than exploring more. Still, this won’t be an issue for most.It's a beautiful home and I would highly recommend it.

NC Getaway

The house was a great layout. Good sized rooms and a newer kitchen. The dock and kayaks were nice. We enjoyed the lake and view of it from the house. The only issue was the bed in the master squeaked anytime you moved. Probably needs to be replaced. Great trip!

Relaxing and enjoyable family vacation

Our family trip to Sapphire was full of adventure to waterfalls, kayaking, great restaurants, and relaxing at the nearby resort’s indoor pool/ hot tub. The house is on a lake that does not allow loud boats so the kayaking was smooth. One of the bedrooms had a private balcony and my adult daughters appreciated the other bedrooms with a full bath for each person. The owners were very communicative and helped make the vacation perfect!

Amazing Lake house

I can’t say enough about how amazing this property is. It was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. The owner thought of everything! Anything you might need during your stay, the property owner made sure to provide it. We would love to stay again!

Cozy getaway

We had a small family get together and had a great time. The home was in a beautiful location on a quiet lake and was perfect for our group. It was clean and well kept, and was close by to lots of outdoor activities as well as restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks as well. Would definitely stay again

Wonderful hideaway

We loved Drew’s serene mountain house on the lake. My son caught brim and trout everyday on the creek. We played pickle ball and went kayaking at the resort, and enjoyed the fine dining and shopping in Cashiers. A wonderful house that is clean and cozy.

Second Visit - Great house!

This is our second time booking an extended stay at this house, and it is still one of our favorites! We spent 2 weeks at the house and it was plenty of space for our family of four and another family that spent part of the trip with us. The house is clean, well kept, and has everything we need. The dock is fantastic for fishing and swimming, and we love the access to the kayaks and canoe. The lake is quiet and great for kids to explore since there aren't motorized boats. You can't go wrong with this rental!

Lovely mountain lake home!

We loved renting this cozy mountain home, perfectly set up for our human and furry family! Everything is so fresh and clean, we appreciated the soaps and spices on hand. It's nice to have some empty cabinet space to store things, as well. We had a fantastic time jumping off the dock (deep at the end!), and using the canoes and kayaks with life vests provided.It was our boys first time in a canoe, and it was the perfect place to start. The water was calm, we had fun watching for underwater trees and limbs. We saw and heard hawks, doe and fawn, and a heron. All from the yard or lake! We hiked Rainbow Falls and Silver Run Falls (the latter had a great swimming hole, but COLD!), ate at Whiteside Brewing and Crossroads Custard, went to the Sapphire Valley Resort (Drew helped us get the guest passes for a minimal fee, on an as used basis) and picnicked on the Green. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Drew was very helpful answering questions beforehand and during our stay. We couldn't be more pleased!

The perfect mountain lake cabin!

We were fortunate to be able to visit this beautiful property for two weeks. The cabin easily accommodated five adults and two small children. It was clean and updated and had an amazing view of the lake below. All of us caught fish, including the four and six year olds! We hope to visit again in the future!
