Cabañas el Manantial

Cabañas el Manantial

10/10 Excellent
"The place is beautiful, and the sights are amazing. I especially loved the incredible view of the volcano. However, what I didn’t like was the bathroom. The electrical box is placed in a location where, every time we take a shower, the handle gives us an electric shock. This is very concerning and should be addressed for the safety of the guests. The place is beautiful, and the views are amazing. I especially loved the beautiful view of the volcano. However, there is a serious safety concern with the bathroom. The electrical panel and electrical wiring are installed inside the bathroom, very close to the shower. Every time we took a shower, we could feel electricity coming through the shower handle. This was very concerning and made us feel unsafe. I strongly recommend that the electrical system be inspected and repaired by a qualified electrician before other guests use the bathroom. For your safety, I would avoid using that shower until the electrical issue has been checked. Feeling electricity through a shower fixture can indicate a dangerous electrical fault."

4-bedroom house in fabulous Isla de Ometepe with AC, WiFi

10/10 Excellent
"Time flies when people enjoy places like this. We enjoyed this beautiful House!! There were a few concerns with the fruits that were piled up and uncleaned under the mango tree. It attracted many wasps and mosquitos that didn't allow us to really enjoy the outside without getting bit or almost stung. The rooms were very spacious and organized but they weren't as clean, some had cobwebs and a lot of dust and a few dead ants and such. Minor details compared to our comfort at stay. Mainly, there was big power outages our first two nights where the power would go out completely for the whole house for long hours. We had a bit of food in the fridge that did go bad, and saved the rest when the power came back about 5-6 hours later. Other than that, the house was very accommodating and it was a nice experience for our stay on the island."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Santo Domingo?
The best area to stay in Santo Domingo, Nicaragua, is around the town centre, particularly near the main park and the road leading to the San Juan River. This area offers a good balance of accessibility and local character. The town centre itself is small and easily navigated on foot, with the main park acting as a central gathering point. You'll find local eateries and small shops lining the streets leading off the park. The road towards the San Juan River is particularly relevant as it's the primary access point for river-based activities, which are a major draw for visitors.Couples looking for a relaxing stay with easy access to nature will find this area ideal. Many accommodations here are smaller, locally run establishments that provide a more personal touch. They often have gardens or terraces, superb for unwinding after a day of exploring the river or nearby natural attractions. For travellers interested in eco-tourism and outdoor adventures, staying near the river access points is highly convenient.
When is the best time to go to Santo Domingo?
The best time to go to Santo Domingo is during the dry season, which runs from December to April.During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny weather and pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 25°C to 30°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the city's historical sites, enjoying the beaches, and participating in outdoor activities without the interruption of heavy rain. The lower humidity also adds to the comfort, making sightseeing more enjoyable.Families often find this period superb for a holiday. The reliable sunshine ensures that plans for beach days, visits to the Colonial Zone, and excursions to nearby attractions like the Los Tres Ojos National Park are unlikely to be disrupted by bad weather. Many hotels and resorts will have their full range of amenities and activities available.Couples looking for a romantic getaway will also appreciate the dry season. Evenings are warm and clear, superb for dining al fresco or taking strolls along the Malecón.
