I like the place overall. It was lovely and the check in is super easy. They will give you a code to the inn and you can access the front door and your bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. One downside was that it was hard to find the right temperature for the shower. But I will stay there again.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home! The room had a lovely chimney, and they provided dura flame logs that created a cozy atmosphere. Overall, it was such a nice and peaceful place to stay!

Advertised as Bed and Breakfast. Had bed. No Breakfast. Big deal. Hard to get into property. Requested early check in. No deal. Bathroom from 1940. Small. Old. Moldy. Not even a 1 star. Shower like a phone booth. 90% of contact by email. Only personal call was a welcome intro. Pitch their off premises restaurants. Staying at Marriott tonight as part of my itinerary. Less expensive.

This property was very unique and quaint. I’d never stayed in something like it before. The whole checking in and out process is all contactless and very seamless. We stayed in the top floor and although the stairs were STEEP to the 3rd floor (almost ladderlike) it was worth it! STUNNING VIEWS from 2 different balconies. Great bathroom. Comfy bed. Even a fireplace in the room!

We stayed in the Penthouse Suite with my husband and son, and it was absolutely perfect. The suite featured a comfortable king-sized bed, a couch that converted into a bed, a relaxing jacuzzi tub, and stunning views from the balcony. We appreciated the chilled water waiting for us in the fridge and the plush robes that added a luxurious touch. A special thank you to Humberto, who ensured we were able to check in early and had everything we needed. His thoughtful recommendations for food and activities, along with the personal touches and excellent communication, made our stay extra special. We truly felt cared for and can’t wait to return!

Brighton suit - the only available at the time of reservation - was actually perfect match for my taste and i enjoyed pouring rain at night with scents of blooming plants coming into the room... Such a lovely place, Property is beautiful, great location for walking everywhere and we had so much fun renting e-bikes and cruising around. My only complaint would be that guys were working at 7am going in and out of gate really loud right outside our room and we were sleeping in for once. :) But that being said, I would go back again for sure. Loved it.

The place is nice and automatic check in was easy. Our room (the penthouse) had a strange smell. Not sure if it was because of the rains recently or what but we could not get rid of it. Also the shower temp could not be adjusted. It was full hot at all times. Overall it was a nice stay though.

The location was very nice and the person in charge responded very quickly when we couldn't get access to the space upon arrival. We also got a late checkout by an hour which was nice. The building is very old and there were some definite updates needed in our space such as an entry light that didn't consistently work so we had to feel our way through the passageway to our room and where the floors and walls meet was in need of repair and very dusty. There was also no access to breakfast as stated on Expedia.

Our recent stay in the Darcy Room at De La Vina Inn exceeded all expectations. The thoughtful combination of historic charm and modern comfort created an unforgettable experience. The king-sized bed was exceptionally comfortable, but what truly set this room apart was the luxurious bathtub and private terrace overlooking the front garden - perfect for enjoying morning coffee while listening to birds. The inn's location is ideal - we could easily walk to Santa Barbara's fantastic restaurants and attractions, yet the property felt like a peaceful retreat. The garden areas are beautifully maintained and create such a serene atmosphere. We particularly appreciated the secure keycode access system, which made coming and going effortless. What impressed us most was the attention to detail throughout the property. From the cozy common areas to the immaculately kept gardens, every aspect of De La Vina Inn has been carefully considered. The room itself struck a perfect balance between historic character and modern amenities, making our stay both authentic and comfortable. If you're looking for an intimate, charming alternative to larger hotels in Santa Barbara, the Darcy Room at De La Vina Inn is an absolute gem. We're already planning our next visit!

There should be a way to communicate before you book, that there will not be a person at the Inn to receive you. Instead, you will get a text with a code to the front door and directions to your room. It gives the feel of renting a room in someone's house instead of being a guest at a professional inn. It lacked a warmth that I was expecting for the price. When booking, I requested a late check out and the Inn did not respond with an answer. The cleaning crew was there Sunday morning, which was good because I used the last clean mug for coffee. My room was comfortable and clean.

We walked in and said "Wow!" We knew we had found a true gem in Santa Barbara. A beautifully restored vintage home with wood paneling, curly-cues and beautiful grounds. We sat down in the back and just sighed. Ahhh!
