We chose Lake Wateree because we wanted to feel like we were away from the city. Timeout on Tallow was scenic and quiet. We were able to connect to nature, as well as with one another. "

"We had a great stay! The house was very nice with easy access to both the lake and marina. It was just a quick trip for us, but everything was convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable. We’d definitely come back again!"

"We had a great time staying here! The communication from management was very friendly and quick/responsive. The instructions for check in and out were easy to follow. The roads around this house were not busy at all; the part of the lake it is on was also not overly busy. We heard fairly constant motor noise but it was Labor Day weekend and being in this little cove made it distant and therefore not very loud. Neighbors were friendly and there was always some kind of activity to see from our bank/dock. The kitchen had a good selection of mugs, glasses, dishes, and pots/pans/baking sheets. There were K-Cup coffees and teas provided. The porch was very big and covered, but not screened in. That made for better views, and there were surprisingly few bugs around the house and lake anyways. We went to several stores and restaurants nearby as well as a little grill/bait shop at a very close-by boat ramp. We arrived just as some live acoustic music had finished. There is no ladder on the dock and a rocky bank/wall for pretty much the width of the lot. Easy enough to walk out from swimming, but I could see that being a hindrance to launching/beaching kayaks, which we did not try to do this time. Overall this was a very great house with lots of character and charm!"

"We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake house for our church youth retreat! The location was absolutely perfect, offering a wonderful backdrop for our group. There was a ton to do right on the property, which was a huge bonus for keeping everyone entertained – the availability of kayaks, paddleboards, swimming, and fishing meant there was never a dull moment.Overall, everything was great, and the owner was incredibly helpful and fast-responding to any questions we had, which we greatly appreciated.However, there were just a few minor downfalls that impacted our experience. The elevator was not working, and with four levels, carrying luggage and groceries up and down was quite a workout and definitely hard on the knees. Additionally, the bugs and spiders were a considerable issue. We found it nearly impossible to sit on the porch or go outside without being swarmed, especially at night, and every time the door was opened, they seemed to find their way into the house. Lastly, the air conditioning was not working in the garage, where the pool table and ping pong table are located. This made the space super hot and uncomfortable, preventing us from enjoying the game area for very long.Despite these challenges, the overall positive aspects and the wonderful amenities available on the lake made for a memorable retreat! Would definitely book again!"
