This was a beautiful property in a great location to explore the city. We didn't get to enjoy the roof top pool as the weather didn't cooperate, but it looked wonderful. The staff, especially Andrea Iradier, the Guest Experience Manager, was very helpful. Andrea booked a private walking tour for us as well as private transportation to our next destination. She has a wealth of information about what to do and see in the area. Thank you Andrea! You made our trip very special.

A comfortable stay in good location
A clean and comfortable room . The reception and bar areas are full of character. Friendly bar staff and a wonderful breakfast buffet . Hotel is in a very good location for both the beach and old town

The property is well located and well appointed. It seems that it was recently renovated. The one thing we missed was a valet to welcome us and help with the car and luggage.

Everything was great, location wise the hotel was perfect. 2 minute walk to the beach, 15 minutes to old town and 5 minutes to the center. Breakfast at the hotel was great. Definitely will come back on our next visit to San Sebastián

Forced to pay extra just for a double bed
Disappointed with our stay. The hotel was ok, but we booked a room and they gave us 4 twin beds upon check in. As we are a couple, we asked to swap to a room with just one double bed and we’re told we would need to pay €70 per night to “upgrade” to a room with a double bed. I don’t know how an upgrade means going from 4 beds to 2, but the new room was also much smaller than the other one and the bathroom was nowhere near as nice. Definitely not an upgrade in our eyes and we felt like we were gouged for extra money just for a double bed. Would not recommend.

Our rooms with 4 beds are the triple rooms, made up of two folding bunk beds, which are always tucked away and we give them to our guests so that they have more space, as they are among the most spacious in our hotel. The rooms with double beds are our superior rooms with terrace, on the highest floors along with the Premium Experience we offer, hence the supplement of 70. Clean property. Friendly and helpful staff. Valet even took our bags to the car so that we could spend the day in town before checking out. Quick walk to the beach and to old town!

Great location. Beautiful entrance with the old convent style over the bar. We requested an upgrade because the double is two slim single beds pushed together. The next room up was a lot nicer but the view is awful! Quite a noisy hotel with the hard wood floors. The porter/doorman is absolutely so helpful he really made our stay especially with the bike hire. Be warned that the bar is understaffed and the hotel state that it is not their responsibility as it isn’t part of the hotel…. I don’t understand how that can be given it’s a massive selling point. Was disappointed by the poor bar service- wasn’t the girls fault it’s just understaffed. Wouldn’t return.

The hotel is in a great location. Spacious modern bedroom and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Minor negative point - there was some noise coming from the adjacent rooms, due to the hard flooring, but did not impact sleep.

Good points - comfortable beds and pillows. Good size bedroom and bathroom. Friendly staff. Good location - walking distance to beach and old town. Useful that checkout is 12 noon. Excellent breakfast Other points - disappointed that rooftop pool and terrace not yet opened even though weather very hot and it being June. No complimentary water in rooms. Stingy bathroom products - eg had to ask for hair conditioner, slippers, bath gel etc. Corridors a bit dark and dour. Residents bar closed early.

The Hotel Zenit Convento looks nice on the surface, with newly renovated rooms and a very pretty bar. However everything else is severely lacking. The rooms had floating floorboards that creak so loudly it woke my husband up every time I got up. Several amenities you’d expect in a 4 star hotel were missing, like tissues and water. The breakfast service was total chaos. No one came around to ask if you would like to order something like eggs, and people had to try to flag one of the frenetic staff down to order. A couple people near us never got their order, and others were never able to place an order. The coffee machine was broken 2 out of the 3 days we stayed, and tables weren’t bussed leaving a mess everywhere. The buffet was lacking basics like fresh fruit (other than a bowl of kiwi every day). The worst was the front desk and bar staff. No one ever smiled or asked how our stay was, and when we checked out the person at the desk just said “you owe 90 euros” without offering to give us the invoice. The bartenders and other staff would stand around talking to each other and ignore customers. We mentioned the poor breakfast service on our first day to the manager and he was very apologetic and nice. The next day they seemed to be trying harder in the restaurant, but during our entire stay we never felt welcome by any of the staff. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The hotel was centrally located, only a couple blocks from the beach and about a 15 minute walk to the old quarter where all the great pinxos bars are. The lobby is beautiful, the room was so spacious, and the breakfast buffet was incredible. Five star service and food/drink. Would stay here again!
