Birthday Getaway

Wow! This little house in the trees is a dream. We loved it.
Close to great restaurants, the ferry to SF and lovely walks. I can’t say enough in the positive. The owners greeted us when we arrived and they were super. My favorite rental of all time.

A perfect stay
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights in November—it was just what we were looking for. It’s quiet and tucked away, and that view is lovely. The place is as pictured and communication with the host was great. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it anymore

Perfect gateway to Mill, Sonoma & Napa valleys
The location made in a perfect spot for day trips north to wine country. Private and nestled into a natural setting, the cottage was clean and well equipped. Off the beaten path, with easy access to the main routes to the beauty of Northern California, this is a great vacation spot.

Treehouse Treat
The San Rafael treehouse is a wonderful dome house located in a beautiful, secluded section of San Rafael. It has an very nice view of San Francisco Bay from a circular deck with a glass railing which helps to provide a better view. The house is very modern and clean and includes pretty much every amenity you need for 1 - 4 people. My family (my wife and two children) slept comfortably in the house and didn't need much outdoor space other than the deck because we were so close to a lot of attractions which kept us busy all day, such as the San Francisco city area and Muir Woods. The city is easily accessible from the Larkspur ferry. We also enjoyed meeting the owners who were very gracious and hospitable but didn't "drop in" or check in with us all the time which gave us much appreciated privacy. Joe's suggestion to take the ferry also proved a real winner! Overall, great experience.

Wonderful Bungalow
This was absolutely an amazing place to stay. We wanted to experience SanFrancisco and this place was so amazing we never wanted to leave the house most days. Enjoyed coffee on the wrap around porch with birds and spectacular views of the bay! I could go on and on about this place and how welcomed we felt by Mr. & Mrs.Dunn! We will definitely stay there again!

We so enjoyed our stay. The cottage was just beautiful. Everything about our stay and the area was great. I had a brief conversation with Joe at check-in, who was kind and helpful and that was all we needed because everything else was well thought of and we were perfectly taken care of. Would love to re-visit on our next trip when there.

Classy, open air feel, cottage in the trees!
What a delight ! The “Yurt” shaped cottage in the trees was so clean and classy! The cottage felt like a warm hug! We had a lovely talk with the owner upon arrival . It was a perfect location for us to head out on our 3 daily trips: San Fran, Napa, and Pt Reyes. I would highly recommend this property. The harbor is right below with a nice market for groceries, take out meals, and a small bar too! And quick access to Rt101. We would definitely stay again!

Honeymoon Bliss
We had a wonderful stay in the cutest treehouse/yurt! It was the end of our honeymoon and we were able to stay for several days. The space was perfect for us. Our hosts were gracious. The view was impeccable. Watching the birds and other creatures was our evening ritual. We can't say enough great things about our stay there. Do yourselves a favor and stay in this amazing treehouse!

All-Around, the Best VRBO!
We have stayed at quite a few vrbo’s with our kids, and this has been the most thoughtfully crafted, magical, and luxurious place we have encountered. From the beautifully lit pathway to the brand new fully functioning kitchen appliances, to the plush towels in the simple yet chic bathroom. Literally everything about this place felt like a little gift for our family… We have 2 children ages 15 and 17, and we decided to have a restful day of hiking and soaking up sunshine before heading into the world of college tours. We were able to park our car and walk up to China Camp State Park…steep incline… and then walk down to have a yummy lunch at a local deli. The shared hot tub also was easily accessible and felt private. If you are looking for a place to relax and find peace among the trees, this is IT!

Lovely and Peaceful!
My cousin and I had a rejuvenating and relaxing stay at this exceptional architectural dream cottage! The surrounding woodland greenery and wildlife was very comfortable and calming. The hosts are friendly, but also respectful of one's privacy. We both would have loved to take the cottage home with us and certainly intend to stay again! In addition, I definitely recommend both of their books for personal growth in easily understandable "layman's terminology!"

Lovely, well-appointed cottage
Joe & Mali are very responsive hosts. There was a problem with the heating when we arrived. They immediately took action by supplying us with space heaters and calling heating companies to address the problem. They even invited us to dinner as a way of thanking us for our patience! We loved the beautiful surroundings and hope to return when the weather is warmer so that we can enjoy sitting out on the deck.

We stayed here for 7 nights. This place is great. It's very clean, up to date and quiet. We enjoyed the privacy of the property and the view through the trees of Loch Lamond Marina. Everything was provided including a full kitchen with all the utensils, coffee maker, dishwasher and refrigerator. Although we didn't watch much tv, we had access to Netflix, Roku, Prime Video and a few other streaming services. Joe and Mali were great hosts. We will definately by staying here again.

Great stay in the trees!
Joe's round treehouse is a fun place to stay when visiting the San Rafael area. The place is surrounded by trees and birds with a great view of the bay as well. While the property is small, it is very comfortable and has everything you should need for a visit (note that there is no laundry in the unit). We felt like we were in a private treehouse even though Joe's house is not far away. With the wraparound deck, you can lounge outside with a view in whatever direction you'd like! We highly recommend Joe's place for your next visit to Marin County!

Absolutely the cutest little cottage tucked back - I HAD to stay here. We based our 15 year anniversary trip off this rental and couldn’t be happier! It was far enough out of the city for seclusion and quiet but a fun drive to our destinations! It’s adorable! Clean and as described. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway!

Quiet and relaxing
The only concern I had was not with the property, it was through the VRBO search. I originally had Vallejo in my search and somehow this one showed up. Glad it did it was very nice but added another 30 minutes travel time to our other destination. The property was great even the wild turkeys wandering around and San Rafael was a nice place.

What a fabulous, clean and cozy tree house. Enjoyed coffee on the beautiful deck with a magnificent view and grilled our dinner every night. The house is complete. Joe & Mali thought about everything if you forgot your toothbrush , they had one in a package. They decorated the place fabulously with fresh cut flowers. Their kitchen fully equipped and has salt, pepper, spices, oils for cooking & even coffee. Words cannot describe how beautiful and fabulous the place is . There is even a wonderful Jacuzzi you can use and close to everything. We loved the place and was so sad leaving. Can’t wait to come back again . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is a lovely property in a lovely setting. Quiet natural setting yet very convenient to all that Marin has to offer. The hosts, who live in the main house on the property, were responsive and friendly but unobtrusive…which was perfect for us. The unit is well appointed and maintained and extremely clean. Our mid-week rate was an excellent value for such a great property and location. Overall, very highly recommended.

Oaks and view’s aplenty !!!
Joe and Mali are the best hosts!! A small snafu in the beginning was immediately handled beyond our satisfaction! The beautiful round cabin was very clean and just as advertised with very comfortable accommodations and everything you could possibly need. Of course bring your own food or eat out at amazing restaurants in San Rafael, Mill Valley, Tiburon, or Corte Madeira as we did. We will definitely return and soon I hope!! Thank you Joe and Mali.

My husband, son and I decided to start booking some local getaways to escape the COVID doldrums. When I saw this round cabin, I was intrigued. We were delighted form the moment we got there. Reading a book on the wraparound deck overlooking the bay with a glass of wine is heaven. Joe is a gracious and organized host. Fantastic.

Adorably Picturesque
Very cute and unique property with a beautiful view. Really enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings with drink in hand. All the amenities we needed including coffee were provided. Also had fresh flowers on the table which was a very nice and personable touch. Very well maintained and clean. The driveway is the only minor “negative” as it is very steep and we were a little nervous backing out and into the road. But we also come from a “fly over state” and negotiating hills is a rarity for us. I would definitely recommend a stay at the round cottage vs a boring ol’ hotel room any day! Thank you for your hospitality!

A Magic Getaway
Circle Cottage is such a special place. Though small in size, it is huge in style, comfort and setting. The Cottage is as described and shown in the photos. The furnishings are beautiful and the cottage is outfitted with every amenity. Andy's Local Market just down the road is a foodie delight and the hike up to China Camp is beautiful. Hosts Joe and Mali were outstanding. Highest recommendation to them and this lovely spot.

The most relaxing “staycation”
We wanted to relax for a day away from home/work - and Joe’s round house was just perfect. The energy of the space was perfect for a lazy day of enjoying each other’s company. Not far from downtown where we were able to enjoy dinner! Joe and Mali were wonderful hosts! We definitely hope to re-visit the roundhouse in the future!
