"The modern room was spotlessly clean, & included everything we needed, a very comfortable Queen bed and a decent balcony (with "sea glimpses"). However the room was tiny - we couldn't pass each other walking around the bed - had to be done one at a time. The bed was high so suitcases could be stopped beneath It could also do with HOOKS!! No hooks anywhere!! Beyond the room, the common area was always buzzing and the youngsters & staff were all polite and friendly. The place had a great vibe. Breakfast (provided) was decent. The restaurant (in the older part of the building) was excellent (you could tell by the number of locals who are there on the evening). BIG BONUS: rooftop pool and bar!! Fabulous views! Shame that the bar closed at 7, but the pool didn't 😜 Location is great! It's right next door to Palapas Bar & Grill (for the wild ones) and just a few meters away from Cool Beans (5a-5p) for the best breakfasts and lunches. All the great downtown restaurants are within a 15-minute walk. That said, we rented a golf cart to explore the island, and we're glad we did. The only downer - and hardly Sandbar's fault - was the thick sargassum seaweed on all the east-facing beaches. Yuk! In short, we'll be back! And you should add it to your bucket list!"
