Another wonderful visit...
Repeat visitor to Treetop. We love the location, property, and cleanliness. As always, Kent was a fantastic host, gracious and helpful. Don't hesitate if you are sitting on the fence or weighing a beach rental, it's a great play to stay and explore San Diego. You can get to the beaches in no time (or out East), and North & South Park are dynamic neighborhoods to eat, shop, and drink.

Garden Oasis
Our host met with us to show us the amazing gardens surrounding this stunning property. which included a porch off the living room and our own garden patio area. There were small oases cleverly tucked in all over the property, which was blooming with Bird of Paradise plants. The property was immaculate, and it had everything we needed, down to ice packs for a lunch. The location was fabulous, with restaurant suggestions from the host in walking distance. We would definitely return to the property, and we would highly recommend it to others.

WOW!
This place is simply outstanding. A 1920's craftsman home that Kent has lovingly restored to its full glory. He made a career of high-end rehabs and the quality, care, and attention to detail show in every square foot. A very large 1-br apartment with 2 decks, a big patio and front porch and complete privacy. There's a very interesting bookshelf and Kent even let me borrow one on the promise to return it the next time we are in town. Off street parking in a very quiet neighborhood, just outside of Balboa Park. Quiet, quiet, quiet. This is the place we will try to stay every time we come to town.

Paradise on earth!
Kent was an amazing host and has a gorgeous property that we fell in love with. It is a large, comfortable space surrounded by lush gardens he maintains with utmost care and precision. Open the windows to enjoy fresh air from the fruit and flowering trees while listening to all the exotic birds and zen fountains. Excellent location and wonderful neighborhood, close to the expressway, Balboa Park, and lots of delightful food and drink options nearby.

Wonderful property, with even more wonderful host
Obviously from all other reviews, this property and location are amazing, with beautiful gardens to enjoy, and easy walking to so many fun spots in North Park, South Park, Balboa. Kent was so easy to connect with, and communicated quickly at all times. The house is a perfect size for 2 people. Bed is comfortable and large! The shower has shampoo/conditioner/soap available, it has great hot water and pressure, and lots of fluffy towels to use afterwards. We grilled twice during our stay, and enjoyed the ease of the grill, the relaxing environment of the patio with water feature and pretty pergola over the seating area. It is also great to have washer/dryer available, as we were there for the SD 1/2 marathon and had clothes to clean after running! Kent and his home made for wonderful memories and experiences during our trip. Thanks!

Welcome Home!
From the moment we walked in we felt at home. All our needs had been considered and provided for. The location was outstanding. Kent's suggestions on dining and things to do were spot on. We especially enjoyed outdoor dining options right at our home. The sound of water & green canopies everywhere were so relaxing. We would highly recommend this treetop oasis!

Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the personal greeting by Kent to the location (so close to the park and all the great restaurants and neighborhood of North Park) to the comfort and Craftsman elegance of the unit itself. We had mixed weather while we were were visiting. On the nice-weather days we really enjoyed both the charming porch and courtyard and ability to walk around the lovely neighborhood and to 30th street and all it offers. But we also loved just hanging out and reading or watching a movie during the rainy morning or two, from our private cozy nest looking out into the lush tropical oasis that Kent has created. It truly is like being in a magical tree house! Looking forward to our next visit already - and thank you Kent, for being such a great host!

Hidden gem with a welcoming host
I wasn't sure what to expect with my stay as I was traveling alone/didn't make too many plans/didn't know anyone in San Diego... and I was beyond impressed! Not only is this location prime, Kent was an amazing host and has put so much thought and love into making this place a home. Truly a fantastic experience and sweet escape! Private Oasis
This beautiful home makes you feel like you’re in a treehouse, as you are surrounded by palm trees, flowering vines, succulents and many other plants. Kent was so welcoming and took time with us to explain the area. We were really impressed with his attentiveness. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. Many people had their homes decorated with lights everywhere for Halloween and there were lots of people out running or walking their dog(s). Walking distance to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, many restaurants and shops. So much to see and do. I really hope we can come back to San Diego and will definitely try to stay here again if available! Thank you Kent!

An absolutely gorgeous tropical retreat in the perfect location!
From start to finish, one of the best properties we’ve ever stayed in. Kent was so friendly and helpful and knowing the details of how he created this tropical oasis made us love it even more. The location is perfect. I felt like everywhere we wanted to go was within a 10 minute drive and many things were a short walk away. We just left and we already miss that Southern California breeze coming in through those beautiful windows. We will be back for sure!

Fabulous private tree house
Kent was a welcoming host- to a charming space. Craftsman style home in a quiet neighborhood with great restaurants and shops to explore nearby. Each window brought a new view of the gorgeous landscaping on the yards below the tree house. Excellent space for unwinding and enjoying travels!

Our time in the treetop
We had high expectations but they were exceeded. We felt so at home and comfortable as soon as we walked into this beautiful home with its own patio and deck space. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, but is so close to fine restaurants and so much to do. After years of living in and visiting San Diego, who knew there were still places like this?

Great house and location
The house and yard were amazing. It is a large one bedroom Craftsman that is just as the photographs depict. With the lush one acre plus yard it felt like you were in a rain forest rather than a city. The location is quiet, yet close to the restaurants and bars on 30th St and University Ave. Most places are within a 1/2 to one mile walk. Street parking is not a problem. Thank you Kent. Wonderful, comfortable oasis in a great, quiet location. Close to the Zoo in Balboa Park and a quick Uber to just about anywhere in San Diego. House is very spacious and beautifully restored. We enjoyed fresh lemons from the organic garden. Landlord was responsive . Highly recommend.

Pristine and Lovely
We stayed in the Tree Top Suite for one week over Christmas. The suite was beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. As in the description, it is surrounded by tropical plants and feels very resort like. Kent made check in very easy, he is very accommodating and even left us a bowl of fresh, fragrant, and delicious lemons from his tree, a real treat. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Amazing!
My husband and I loved our stay here. The property is unique because it has a beautiful garden in the middle of the city. The bed was super comfortable; all amenities provided. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and yet close to everything - Balboa Park, restaurants and stores. Kent was gracious, welcoming, and always available for anything we needed. We will be coming back, and hope the secret of this wonderful place doesn't get out - we want it to remain available for us! ;)

We had a fantastic stay at Kent's lovely property in North Park, just a short block away from the famous Balboa Park. It exceeded expectations in every regard and looks even better in person than it did in the photos. . Lovely home décor with old world charm. The landscaping on the property is especially noteworthy. The atmosphere is truly a tranquil oasis and excellent for those seeking peace and quiet. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. 5/5

An oasis central to everything in San Diego
My husband and I spent our week-long honeymoon at Kent's incredible property, and we couldn't have had a more relaxing experience. While Kent took us on the tour of the property, my jaw gaped at the detail and love that went into the renovation of the home, as well as the fragrant and spectacular gardens surrounding the house. We enjoyed several breakfasts and dinners on the terrace overlooking the tranquil courtyard fountain, but we loved how centrally located the home is to an abundance of incredible restaurants! While we had so much fun exploring San Diego (the zoo is a must!), we hardly left the North Park/University Heights area in terms of dining. A true gem! Kent was so accommodating and wonderful throughout our stay, and we can't recommend this treetop oasis enough. :)
