Great location!
We really enjoyed the location of this property. Steps from the beach and lots of food/coffee options. The property manager was very easy to work with and helpful. The garage is small so don’t rent a large car or truck if planning to use the garage.

Great place for the bride's family
This was a beautiful apartment and in the center of everything. We enjoyed beach walks with my daughter and families coming in every day for the wedding. The place was super clean and well-appointed. We had both the bride and groom over for a get-to-know-each-other dinner. The place was perfect for that. Fabulous response from Megan the Property Manager when we could not figure out tv and she went above and beyond replacing lightbulbs. We will return!

Really quit, cool, comfortable apartment. Great yard and surroundings. Good place to decompress. Had a tub draining problem which required call to property manager and then a plumber next day, but it was handled. Nice relaxing stay.

We loved the location-close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Property managers were very responsive-the bulbs burned out in the bathroom and they were replaced promptly. The hot water and water pressure in the bathroom were awesome.

Beautiful quiet apartment. Older but clean.
The apartment was clean. There were little things like a microwave that didn't work over stove and another that did work on top of the refrigerator. We had a problem with the garage door opener but manage responded immediately and had handyman fix it within minutes. Overall definitely would stay again.

You could see the ocean from the windows thus a perfect location! The apartment was clean, in good repair and relatively spacious. It was very inviting and the price is right. Highly recommend.

The location is amazing!!! Great, quick walk to the beach, to the local restaurants, and to the main PB areas. The condo is well furnished and clean. No air-conditioning was fine as we left the windows open and it was great. The queen bed is squeaky when you move, but comfortable. Although there is a lot of nearby parking, the surfers are quick to grab it. That and the 3 vans being lived out of are our only complaints. We had no issues with the residents and enjoyed our time there!

Had musk smell. Wires hanging out of wall. Dishwasher tried to fall out of cabinet no working vents in bathroom. Just not properly maintained. I now know why they say no refund at booking

We certainly take guest complaints seriously and have sent our handyman to investigate the issues in this review. To our knowledge there is no smell, yes, this close to the beach sometimes things can be damp due to ocean breezes but we clean all surfaces, bedding, furniture between guests. As far as our refund policy we never heard from this guest. He never gave us an opportunity to quickly fix his issues. If he was unhappy we would have refunded his unused stay. Our normal policy is to offer a refund if we are able to re-rent the space after cancellation.

We had a great time and was very pleased with the apt. It was very clean and nice layout for us all to feel comfortable. Walking distance to grocery store, restaurants, and beach! Property manager was super nice and very attentive! Can't wait to go back!

The property has quirks - the water heater makes strange noises, for example; but after staying there for 30 days we are in love with the area and this particular unit. The proximity to the beach and all kinds of places to eat is hard to beat. Note - there is no AC, but to be honest I did not miss it. The internet speed is decent (I think I measured 150mpbs down at one point). The 1 car garage included with this 2 bedroom unit is a big plus, but street parking is also fairly accessible. Recommended.

Mission and Pacific Beach Apartment
The reason for this title is because of the unique and very good location of the apartment, we enjoyed it very much. And the property manager is very responsive. We hope to come back. If you are considering coming with your family to this apartment it is a perfect pick, even not having a/c which is common in the area, was a nice change for us; waking up with the change in noises from the outside world is much pleasant that waking up from any alarm clock. The bikes are a plus, use them, enjoy them, and clean them for others to enjoy after you.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Blanca/Avalon, and would love to return. This place had just about everything: It was literally steps to the beach with lots of restaurants, activities and shopping nearby. The beds were awesome! The kitchen was well stocked and clean. There were plenty of extra bath towels. This place had most of the comforts of home, and was for the most part tidy and we loved our stay overall. However, I felt that it was somewhat dusty: the blinds, top of fridge, baseboards, and window sills could have used some dusting. Some suggestions if I may: In the kitchen an extra kitchen towel or two, an extra roll of paper towels, a blender and a strainer for pasta. In the bathroom, the tub drained very slowly, and the door was difficult to open. An extra tub mat and roll of TP would have also been nice as we stayed a week. The guide also needs some updating, the laundry mat is no longer in existence, or the address is incorrect. The trash bin codes did not seem to work, we could not open to dispose of trash. We also did not find the free bottle of wine☹️. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend.

She could have easily provided the extra supplies you mentioned. If our housekeeping team missed the free welcome bottle of wine, which we do provide, we could have dropped that off as well. Our apartments do come with strainers but sometimes as supplies are being updated, refreshed, or cleaned we could miss an apartment. We do keep an extra supply of kitchen items in our storage. We hope to welcome you again and thank you for your constructive suggestions.

Adequate Stay
The property was exactly as it looked in pictures, a little more worn then expected. We had issues with the water heater and did not have a response at all from the manager, we emailed twice. It was alarmingly loud when water was used. Still no response or idea what the cause was. The location is excellent, less than a block from the beach, parking was easy. One of the twin beds has a mattress in really poor condition which impacted getting a good nights sleep. The walls and floors are also thin which impacted sleep as well (we could hear the person downstairs snoring throughout the night). Overall a fine experience. The price point is good for the location and layout.

Our apologies for not getting back to you quickly on the water heater issue. We have an excellant manager who’s worked for us for more than seven years available 24/7 for these issues. Guests are provided with her cell number and email prior to arrival. She gets rave reviews from our guests for her prompt attention. As owners we take the responsibility of maintaining our apartments very seriously. We also refresh our apartments twice a year with new linens, rugs, furniture as needed....touch up paint etc. We will do an inspection of the apartment to be sure things are replaced if necessary and check on the twin beds condition.

This location was perfect! Close enough to walk to the store and coffee shop, as well as the beach. Perfect to watch the sunset every night! Property clean and safe! Great having a garage to keep surf boards and beach stuff safe! We found that we could always find a place to park close - without having to park in back. Look forward to staying here again! Management was available and accommodating!

Amazing location!
This place is in a perfect spot for a family. Only 2 blocks from tons of restaurants and bars, and nearly on the walkway down to PB. It's very quiet at night and even has an ocean view from the master bedroom. We had our garbage disposal die and the property manager had a plummer on site within an hour. Only drawbacks are 1) property needs updating ( but who cares ) and 2) garage space was unusable. My F150 was BARELY able to fit and I basically had to crawl out the window because the doors wouldn't open. But we found an alley parking space for the week. Would DEDINITELY recommend, and stay here again. Thank you,

We had a great time! We have a 3 year old and a 5 year old and finding a place can sometimes be challenging, but this location was great! A 2 minute walk to the beach, plenty of restaurants and ice cream shops in walking distance! There were a ton of other families with children in the other units which was a blast for our boys and made the vacation even more relaxing! It was a quick and easy run to the boardwalk for my husband and I each day! Would definitely go back, and even contemplating getting more family to come stay in the other units for a mini family reunion! Loved it!

Lovely stay and good value
My small family of three typically travels to San Diego once a year and we've stayed in vacation rentals in several different areas. This was our first stay at Villa Blanca and we loved both the accommodations and location. It was a short walk to a nice part of Pacific Beach and restaurants were close by too. The apartment had everything we needed with the exception of onsite laundry, which wasn't a big deal since we were only there a few nights (and there is a nearby laundromat). The place was clean with a nice kitchen, comfy beds, and plenty of space for a small family. We didn't have much interaction with the manager (mainly because we had no problems when we were there). My son appreciated the boogie boards and beach toys that were available. We hope to return in the future.

Pros: Wonderful location, steps from the beach. The owners left great information about the area and a complimentary bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. The property manager Megan was very responsive and handled a problem that arose at the beginning of stay promptly and efficiently. Cons: The apartment was very small and there is a fair amount of road noise since it is right off Mission Drive. The bedrooms need curtains or some other way to block the light; the blinds aren't enough. The bathroom really needs some additional hooks and/or shelves so that you can have room to store toiletries, towels, etc. It would also be nice if the amenities were a bit more updated - tv, games, books. Also, the check-in and check-out procedures weren't very clearly communicated and the need to call and meet the property manager in order to get the keys upon arrival is cumbersome.

Winkles Lady.....Deborah was a fussy guest. We are located closer to the beach than Mission Blvd and guests enjoy ocean waves not traffic noise. We’ve never had this complaint. This guest also never replied to the multiple check in emails , we send prior to arrival , to arrange for check in with our property manager. Our apartments are all equipped with multiple board games, cards and guide books. We provide in the apartment a local guide to attractions and restaurants ( which the guest complimented us on) but apparently failed to read in this document the check out details. Just leave the key and lock the door!

Great location with ocean view and breezes.
This 2 bedroom apartment had all the amenities and space we needed. Management was attentive. It was close to public transportation which we used for the first several days and had parking once we rented a car. Even though not air conditioned, our stay over the 4th of July was very comfortable which pleasantly surprised us. The location was great(1/2 block away) for the fireworks display from individuals at Pacific Beach and the bigger production from Mission Beach.
