Begin in the hall dedicated to the history of Samsung. Learn about the little IT company that became a world leader in electronic innovation. Based in Suwon, Samsung Electronics initially produced electrical appliances, such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and calculators. The company then expanded into audiovisual devices and released its first cellphone in 1988. Samsung’s production of inventive semi-conductors, visual displays and cellphones has made an imprint on the way we use technology today.

Check out the Seeds of Innovation exhibition hall to learn about what inspires the inventors of technology. The Core of Innovation exhibit delves into what goes on behind the screen. The Samsung Innovation Museum is located within the Yeongtong-gu district of Suwon. Admission to the museum is free. Make an appointment to visit the museum on weekdays when it can be explored with a guided tour. Guides are available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. On Saturdays, no prior booking is required but tours are not available. The museum is closed on Sundays and national holidays.
