The best area to stay in Samone is the central part of the village, particularly around the church of San Rocco.

This area is the heart of Samone, characterised by its traditional stone houses and narrow, winding streets. You'll find the village's main square here, often a gathering spot for locals, and it offers easy access to the few local amenities like the small grocery shop and a couple of traditional eateries. It's a very peaceful spot, superb for experiencing genuine village life.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find the central village exceptionally appealing. It offers a chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle, enjoy leisurely strolls through the historic lanes, and savour the regional cuisine in a tranquil setting. The surrounding countryside, easily accessible from the centre, provides excellent opportunities for gentle walks with lovely views.

Solo travellers seeking a quiet retreat will also appreciate the central village. It's a place where you can enjoy solitude, read a book in a peaceful corner, or simply observe the rhythm of local life.

The best time to visit Samone is during the spring (late April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the region's natural beauty is at its peak.

Spring in Samone brings mild temperatures and the blossoming of wildflowers across the hills and valleys. It's an ideal time for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling, as the trails are less crowded and the scenery is particularly lush. The local markets also begin to offer fresh seasonal produce, making it a great time for food lovers.

Autumn offers a spectacular display of colours as the vineyards and forests turn golden and crimson. The weather remains comfortable for exploring, and this season coincides with the grape harvest (vendemmia), offering opportunities to experience local wine festivals and tastings. It's a wonderful time for couples seeking a romantic getaway amidst stunning natural backdrops and culinary delights.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, it can be quite warm, and some local businesses might close for Ferragosto (a public holiday in mid-August).
