About this property

House between Lot and Dordogne, between heritage and nature

  • This old typical Quercy house, with its dovecote and its surrounding vegetation, will allow you to enjoy the countryside, in peace and quiet (the house retains a lot of freshness). You will also be close to medieval, prehistoric or natural sites not to be missed:
    - in Dordogne (by car you are 25 minutes from the castle of Castelnaud, Domme or Laroque-Gageac, 35 minutes from Beynac, Sarlat or Monpazier, and 50 minutes from Les Eyzies, Lascaux...)
    - or in the Lot: Rocamadour (50 min), St Cirq Lapopie (1h), caves of Cougnac (20 min) or Pech Merle (50 min), Padirac chasm (1h), the beautiful villages of Autoire or Loubreyssac (50 min), Cahors (40 min)...
If you like cinema, the Rencontres Cinéma Gindou festival will take place from August 16 to 23, 2025 (we are a 10-minute drive from this village).

This house dates from the 19th century for the most recent part. Its dovecote with its slate roof is an old defense tower that seems to date from the 16th century. Located on a large plot of land protected from opposite by dense vegetation, it offers a rare tranquility and calm. Close to Salviac, a small town of 1000 inhabitants, it allows you to enjoy a significant number of services (supermarket, bakery, doctors, swimming pool, pharmacy...). It has 3 bedrooms, a living room-kitchen, a bathroom, and can accommodate between 1 and 8 people (4 beds of 140 in total, including a foldable futon). The bedroom on the first floor has a beehive within it which testifies to the importance of beekeeping in the region (don't worry, the access through the wall has since been blocked!). Upstairs are two bedrooms under the eaves in which you can still see a traditional oak framework typical of the region. The smaller one can accommodate a bed and a futon if necessary. The larger of the two communicates with the dovecote.
The kitchen and the living room open onto outdoor spaces where the many trees allow you to rest in peace.
The bathroom, which is located in the dovecote and in which you will find an old stone sink, is equipped with all modern comforts (bath-shower, washbasin).
The toilet is on the first floor, opposite the bathroom.

    Equipment:
    - Futon in one of the upstairs bedrooms to go from 6 to 8 people
    - Internet (WiFi) with fibre optic + television
    - Sound system (amp with 2 Jamo speakers)
    - Equipped kitchen: electric oven, induction hob (4 burners), dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker (Italian + bodum), microwave oven, toaster, some consumables (dishwasher tablets, liquid soap, oil, salt and pepper)
    - In the cellar: freezer + pantry + washing machine
    - Outside: garden furniture (outdoor table and chairs for 6 + small table for 2 with iron chairs, hammock, two deckchairs), lean-to with wooden table and a charcoal or wood barbecue, and finally a swing.
