Clay Hall Farm itself is a small, peaceful farm made up of three beautifully converted barns, now holiday lets, along with the main farmhouse – this lovingly renovated bungalow. A private road leads you off the main road and down to the farm, with ample off-road parking along the driveway for the whole family.
Six stone steps take you up to the farmhouse and through the garden gate, where you’re greeted by an exceptionally large, enclosed lawned garden. This outdoor space is ideal for families and perfect for dogs to stretch their legs, enjoy a morning run, or simply roll in the fresh grass. Inside, the farmhouse is spacious, light, and entirely laid out on the ground floor. The large open-plan living area features a pair of comfortable sofas gathered around a cosy wood-burning stove, creating a warm and inviting space to relax after a day exploring. A large dining table provides plenty of room for everyone to gather, while the generous kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances. Double glass doors open directly onto the garden, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor living. There are three comfortable bedrooms – two doubles and one king-size – along with a family bathroom featuring both a bath and a separate shower, plus an additional WC for convenience.
The surrounding moors are an area of exceptional natural beauty, criss-crossed with scenic walking and cycling routes that take in heather-clad hills, quiet valleys, and far-reaching views. It’s a paradise for walkers, dog owners, photographers, and anyone seeking fresh air and open space.
The coast lies just six miles away, opening up a string of charming seaside villages and bays waiting to be explored. Staithes enchants with its narrow streets and historic fishing heritage, Runswick Bay offers a sweeping arc of sand backed by dramatic cliffs, and Robin Hood’s Bay is perfect for fossil hunting, coastal walks, and cosy cafés. The historic harbour town of Whitby is only a 20-minute drive, where you can enjoy independent shops, seafood restaurants, sandy beaches, and iconic landmarks such as Whitby Abbey.
Perfectly placed for exploring both the moors and the coast, Clay Hall Farmhouse offers the best of North Yorkshire living: stunning landscapes, dog-friendly adventures, charming villages, and a peaceful rural retreat to return to at the end of each day.
