"The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed my stay in a room with a great view on the second (top) floor. There's ample parking and the views from some of the rooms, my in particular, are great! My balcony overlooked the golf course (the local Pacific Grove muni) and also gave me a glimpse of the ocean. And, it's just a short walk or drive to the beach. There's a complimentary continental breakfast which can be upgraded to breakfast buffet for just $15. All in all, a very nice establishment that I will consider first, next time I'm in the area. I held back one star for three things that are important to me. There was a thermostat in the room but apparently there's no A/C. Not that that would matter for most folks but I found the room a bit stuffy, even with the patio door open. The second issue was that there was a used q-tip on the floor in the bath area which was just sort of off putting. Lastly, I was dumb enough to leave some things in two drawers when I checked out. Housekeeping put the contents of one drawer aside for me but the contents of the other drawer were just not accounted for. It was my mistake so I can't fault them for not keeping track of my stuff. But it was weird they found everything from one drawer but nothing from the other."

"Absolutely Outstanding Stay! I recently brought my staff to Monterey for a wine event, and we stayed at the Monterey Beach Hotel. What an incredible experience from start to finish. The value for the price was exceptional, and the location simply cannot be beat. Being right on the beach made the stay feel like a mini vacation, even though we were there for business. In fact, I’ll definitely be coming back just for a getaway. The service was outstanding across the board. The front desk team was welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful. The bar staff was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to spend time with. Even the team members walking the property, cleaning, maintaining, and keeping everything looking beautiful, always greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello. That level of hospitality really stood out. I stayed in Room 122, and it was spectacular. The room was modern, comfortable, and exactly what I look for when traveling. One of the unexpected highlights was the evening wine tasting, which was absolutely outstanding and added a special touch to the overall experience. 2/10 Terrible

"The place was overall really good for its price but we had two rooms, one of them had an awful smell. Like something was rotting, to top it off both of our rooms were next to a group of people who were extremely loud and yelling since 5pm and decided to throw a party at night. Drinking and having loud music until past 3 am. We ended up calling front desk and making a complaint about the group and the noise. The next day, while we were watching tv, a couple came to our room and opened the door saying this was their room. Ended up going to the front desk to see what was going on. Basically said that I had only made a reservation for one night for one room and another room for two nights and we needed to pay for another night. At that point I was pretty annoyed because I had receipts and emails proving I had payed and made reservations for two nights for each room. After going back and forth, the manager said “it was accidentally cancelled for two night” so they tried to blame me for a mistake they made. After all that I ended up paying again for another night and waiting for a refund for the cancelled night."

"The room was lovely and just what I needed for a short stay. I did love that for the television you could easily cast from your phone. No need to log in to apps on the television to make things work. The staff was helpful. The pool was a great space and I was glad they provided towels. It was warm and clean. I would definitely stay here again. It was close enough to the wharf and only a short drive to additional sites."
