About this property

The Refuge of the Axarquía

  • Spectacular rural house in the heart of the Axarquía region of Málaga, at the foot of the Sierras de Tejeda and Almijara and only 20 km from the beach. This is a spacious, independent house of 145 m² with a partially covered terrace, decorated in exquisite rustic style and equipped with every comfort. You will find 3 double bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds; 2 full bathrooms (one with a bathtub and one with a shower); a living-dining room with separate areas and a large kitchen with a breakfast area. The house has 2 portable air conditioning and heating units. Parking in the area is easy.

Located in the heart of the Axarquía, at the foot of the majestic Sierras de Tejeda and Almijara, Salares is an authentic treasure of Moorish heritage. Surrounded by almond, orange, and olive trees, this village has been historically linked to vine cultivation, which still shapes its landscape and economy today. Salares stretches between ravines, with a network of narrow streets and whitewashed houses, making it a unique destination on the Mudejar Route. Its beauty lies both in its mountainous landscape and its architectural heritage, especially the Church of Santa Ana, whose Minaret Tower, a vestige of its Arab past, was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1979.

The municipal swimming pool is 200 m from the house, open from July to September, and access is available for an extra fee. The nearest beach (Algarrobo Costa) is 23 km away, about 30 minutes by car. Málaga International Airport is 70 km away.
