With strict COVID-19 precautions to follow, travel looks a lot different at the moment. These are some handy things to know before you head off to Sakhir:

• Before you lock in a flight, see if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get the latest updates by reviewing government and travel websites.
• When you go through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to lower it briefly to confirm your identity. Passengers who refuse to wear a mask may be denied entry or boarding.

• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA officer will need to open your bag for inspection.
