"Decent cheap hotel with friendly staff, but could do with a refurbishment. Not close to the city centre but 10 minutes' walk from another JR station that gets you into town easily enough. Did not try the onsen on-site so cannot comment on that."
"The location was perfect, right within the walk to the Zenkoji Temple. Quiet at night, we had a beautiful view from our large traditional room with tatami mats and futons. The breakfast was out of this world, Japanese style with 7-8 small dishes, all of them delicious, and served in a lovely traditional breakfast room. Service was outstanding at desk and at breakfasts. Highly recommend this ryokan!"
"A pleasant stay in a convenient location. Though the check in time was late afternoon we arrived earlier, and we were able to store our luggage till check in.
The staff were helpful and the property was in a great location, with a decent sized comfortable room and bathroom."

"From the moment we arrived, Cafe & Stay Castana exceeded every expectation. The location is simply unbeatable — walking distance to everything the city has to offer, yet tucked away enough to feel like a true local stay rather than a tourist hotel.
The property itself is beautifully comfortable: thoughtfully designed, immaculately kept, and full of the kind of warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. We loved the cafe vibe and the little touches throughout. But what truly sets Castana...
