- Hi and welcome to 'Woodsmoke'. This is a charming 3 bedroom old traditional 'Charentaise' house situated right in the middle of 'Pineau wine' vineyards and sunflowered fields. We are located 2km from the centre of the village of Saint Romain de Benet, near the busy market town of Saujon halfway between the coastal resort of Royan and the ancient Roman city of Saintes. We offer weekly breaks (length of stay negotiable outside high season). The house possesses two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, two bathrooms, spacious traditional style fully-equipped kitchen, large lounge and dining-room. This is the perfect 'getaway from it all' in a 'home from home' location. Perfectly positioned to explore the stunning Atlantic white sandy beaches and islands, marshes, the wine regions of Cognac and Bordeaux among sunflower fields and Charente Maritime's numerous Romanesque and medieval villages and markets.
