A renouveler !

A beautiful old- world cottage in the most picturesque setting. The river is, as described, right on the doorstep and using the canoes provided you can take a leisurely paddle up river to the next village.
If you are after tranquility and peace, this is the spot. Close enough to Ribérac but far enough out too!
Alain and Nathalie made us feel very welcome.
We would not hesitate to book this location again.
A peaceful located gite in in a delightful garden by the river
The gite is situated in a delightful garden onlooking the water. the atmosphere is enchanting. One can swim there and there is free use of the owner's kayaks. The owners are very helpful and welcoming. We have enjoyed our stay very much. It's only basic drawback is procsimity to the road and the noise of traffic - for people sensitive to it.
Points for improvement:
The kitchen is a little under equipped and too small for a family, especially the fridge. (cutting nives not cutting, no grater...)
On hot nights (and there are!!!!) a ventilator would be helpful

Bonne adresse. N'hésitez pas à la découvrir.

Lovely house, peaceful and relaxing.
The property is part of a water mill on the banks of the Drone. 2 bed house is well equipped and comfortable with a private terrace. It is very peaceful, relaxing place. We used canoes provided by Nathalie and had great swimming days. Plenty to do in the area around including cycling. A great location. Nathalie and Thierry were very helpful and kind to us and didnt intrude at all.

Paradise........
The property was lovely with everything you need....but the environment was outstanding! We canoed for free right from our garden and swam in the beautiful river Dronne. The owner was so lovely finding and booking us a restaurant that would cater for vegetarians..........thank you Nathalie

Excelente gran experiencia
Excelente .
repetiremos y recomendaremos seguro Natalie muchas gracias

Nice Place to be

very recommendable house for a holiday
We enjoyed our stay at the mill by the river. The house was clean, spacious and well equipped.
It was very nice to swim and take the canoe on the river.
The surroundings of the house are quiet and beautiful, full of nature, flowers and animals.
You have a lot space around the house that you can use, also a volleyball net and an ping pong table.
It's a pity that there is some noice from the road that leads on a short distance.
Also the attractions that make the Dordogne famous are further away.
But all in all a very recommendable house for a holiday.

Comfortable and well equipped gite
We enjoyed our 11 day stay in the gite above the mill (?the original miller's house). The house, which is approached by a long grass track up which you must reverse on leaving, has been converted with thought and style and is well equipped. There was also ample space to sit on the verandah, though no view of the river from this side and occasional road noise. The high ceilings and stone walls kept the house cool when the weather became warm. However it was unseasonably wet and cold at first and we appreciated the woodburning stove which Nathalie had lit for our arrival (ample supply of wood) and the groceries she left for next morning. There is a good Leclerc supermarket 5 mins drive on the edge of Riberac, an unassuming and pleasant town with an excellent and famous Friday market and we liked sitting under the trees outside the Cafe des Colonnes, a very long established traditional cafe in the market place. There are good local restaurants and we would recommend A Fleur d'Eau by the river in Riberac
We had free access to the canoes and could sit by the river, but the recent heavy rain meant we drove 20 mins to Lac Jemaye to swim. This has a good beach and can be busy, but fine if you choose your time. We also enjoyed cycling around quiet and pretty local villages with their fine Romanesque churches, visiting the abbey caves at Brantome - though the village is a bit touristy. The village of Aubeterre , though very beautiful and with an extraordinary 12th century rock hewn church, did not seem overwhelmed by tourism. Nor did the area generally, unlike parts of the Dordogne further South.
