1. Loire & Sens

Loire & Sens
4.0 star property
Les Garennes-sur-Loire
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (316 reviews)
"Very friendly staff and room very clean. Lovely setting with each room having its own terrace. Dog friendly and there is a great public open space on the other side of the road where dogs can be exercised. Unfortunately we could not use the restaurant because a wedding party was using it. However good restaurants nearby and good room service meant this did not detract too much."

What is the best area to stay in Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets?
The best area to stay in Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets is within the village centre itself, or in one of the surrounding gîtes or château accommodations.

The village centre of Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets is small and tranquil, offering a genuine taste of rural French life. It's characterised by traditional stone houses, a historic church, and local amenities like a bakery and a small shop. The main street, Rue Principale, runs through the heart of the village, providing easy access to these facilities.

For couples seeking a relaxing and romantic escape, staying in a gîte or a small château in the countryside immediately surrounding Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets is an excellent choice. These properties often feature extensive gardens, private pools, and offer a peaceful retreat. They're typically just a short drive from the village for essentials and provide a base for exploring the Loire Valley châteaux and vineyards.

Families will also find gîtes and larger holiday homes in the vicinity of Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets to be ideal. These accommodations often come with more space, fully equipped kitchens, and outdoor areas, which are superb for children.
When is the best time to go to Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets?
The best time to visit Saint-Jean-Des-Mauvrets is during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September.

For couples looking for pleasant weather to explore the Loire Valley's châteaux and vineyards, May, June, and September are ideal. These months offer comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities without the peak crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the gardens in full bloom and the vineyards lush, great for leisurely strolls and wine tastings.

Families travelling with children might prefer July and August. While these months are the warmest and busiest, they coincide with school holidays, making it a convenient time for a family trip.
